2 week Post Op Appointment today for my abrupt surgery on September 30th that needed to be done to remove the necrosis (dead tissue) which led to me losing my left ni**le after a bilateral mastectomy. My plastic Surgeon also did a clean out on my right breast ‘layer by layer’ to remove all possibility of infection.

Last week at my 1 week post op, they stated everything looked good and that most likely, the following week (today) I would have my stitches removed from surgery that attached the healthy skin together, again.

I went today having such high hopes and expectations of a breakthrough moment with getting the stitches removed and excitement of all incisions, tissue and body eventually being on the road to recovery ❤️‍🩹

I was not cleared for the removal of my stitches and that is very disappointing. I was told that it may happen, possibly next week.

Not going to lie…… I feel a bit defeated today. I was truly looking forward to removing my stitches and working towards Physical Therapy, Lymphatic Massage and Scar Healing ❤️‍🩹 I can’t wait for these setbacks to STOP 🛑 and when I am able to just move on and begin to feel normal, again! 😢💕

I added a new word and definition to my vocabulary about a month ago that now holds a special place in my heart and want to share it with you all!

Previvor - A survivor of a predisposition (or increased risk) for a disease such as cancer

Like other National Holidays, there is a Day set aside for Previvors that Happens on the Wednesday during the week of National Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Week, which is today, therefore Happy National Previvor Day! 💕

National Hereditary Cancer Week (this week) is a time to recognize and honor those who have been affected by their family history of cancer.

I want to take time to explain that my decision to have a Prophylactic Bilateral Mastectomy was not Difficult at all! It was the easiest decision I have ever had to make, if I wanted to take measures to lessen my chance of getting Breast Cancer. The most difficult part of this decision was following through with it after still being a controversial decision between others, even in the medical field. 3 PreOp Appointments that laid everything down for me and was terrifying to listen to, that even the emotions and self doubt of questioning yourself, if you are making the right choice, talking yourself out of it, because remember ‘you don’t have to do this’ I was even ready to walk out, Day of Surgery! 🤷🏻‍♀️

As my broken ankle surgery about a year ago was rough physically and independently, this process has been the most difficult to prepare for, mentally and emotionally. As the worst part is over…. It is all uphill from now 💪🏽

Thank you all for the love and support through this journey and allowing me to vent, explain and talk through the process on social media. It definitely helps to express what is going on instead of bottling up all of these emotions and being a hot mess at home!
It truly is my therapy! 🥰

4 week Post Op Appointment today and didn’t get the news I wanted to hear. 😢

While struggling emotionally and physically to continue the healing process on what I call my Left Inverted Black Scab of a ni**le, I have lost it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Surgery is scheduled for Thursday to remove the rest of the dead tissue, then sew and attach the healthy skin together.

The man sitting next to me has been an Angel of Positive Words. He reminded me that I have been through the worst already and it has passed. This is just a bump in the road.

This leaves me with only one ni**le…… 🤷🏻‍♀️
On the bright side, maybe I’ll have to finally get my first ever tattoo 🤔

Michael hit his wrestling weight this weekend so gotta keep the momentum and stay clean.

This week is most important, therefor we had to take away the sugary snacks😫

Lunch meal prep has been made with fruits and veggies in fridge for snacking.
