Tongue Piercing Policy 👅✨

I get asked often about snake eye / snake bite / scoop tongue piercings, so I want to explain why I only perform traditional tongue piercings.

A traditional tongue piercing goes vertically through the center of the tongue, which allows the jewelry to move naturally with the muscle.

Piercings like snake eyes, snake bites, or scoop piercings go horizontally through the tip of the tongue and tie two muscles together that are meant to move independently. Because of this, they can lead to complications such as:

• Limited or restricted tongue movement
• Increased risk of tooth and gum damage
• Jewelry embedding or migration
• Long-term muscle damage

For these reasons, many professional piercers including myself choose not to perform these piercings. My priority is always safe anatomy, long-term health, and proper healing.
