WINTER ROW COVERS & INSULATING MATS — 6 FT WIDE — FROM 30¢/FT
Used agricultural winter coverings available in Derby, Vermont. For growers looking for economical winter protection for dormant lavender, perennials and nursery plants.
All materials are approximately 6 feet wide. Prices are per linear foot.
INSULATING MAT — 30¢/FT
$300 for 1,000 feet
Approximately ¼-inch-thick, felt-like Arbo-Mat-type pad. Used underneath the outer winter cover to maintain an insulating layer of air above dormant plants. Texel designed Arbo-Mat as a reusable alternative to straw.
ARBO-THERM-TYPE COVER — 30¢/FT
$300 for 1,000 feet
White felt with black plastic backing. Used over the insulating mat to provide a barrier against wind and water where the backing is intact. Its opaque construction helps limit solar warming and temperature fluctuations around dormant plants.
TWO-LAYER SYSTEM — $600
Includes 1,000 feet of insulating mat plus 1,000 feet of Arbo-Therm-type covering. The mat provides insulation; the outer cover provides weather protection.
DEWITT ULTIMATE 2.5 OZ WINTER BLANKET — 45¢/FT
$450 for 1,000 feet
White, heavy-duty, water-permeable fabric designed to retain heat while allowing rain and irrigation through. For overwintering perennials and ornamentals, plus cold-weather protection in spring and fall.
Comparable new DeWitt material is listed at approximately 92¢–$1.11 per linear foot, or $920–$1,112 for 1,000 feet of the same width, before shipping and tax. At $450 used, you save approximately $470–$662—about 51–60% less than new.
All materials are used and supplied in existing sections.
