Feels absurd to even try to promote my business in this climate, but my goal has always been to have a safe environment, be inclusive, care for everyone and for them to feel welcome. The other day I got asked my opinion on beauty standards. I don’t believe in beauty standards, they are put out as the “norm” in society and continues to get pushed out. I have seen it mess with peoples confidence, I’ve personally experienced it. But we gotta take a step back and not let those thoughts get into our head and affect our judgement. Everyone is beautiful, it doesn’t matter if you have texture, acne, wrinkles, etc. that is all normal! As an esthetician that is something I thrive to do, making people feel confident within their skin no matter what. We need to reshape “beauty standards” because that is not the “norm” now and should have never been previously. As a society we need to do better and uplift others, rather than shaming them for something that is natural and/or out of their control.
