Cruelty-Free and Vegan Beauty and Recipes! My name is Kristy Cutsforth and I’m a vegan who just happens to love playing with makeup.
I love feeling beautiful and glamourous, just like the next person, but not at the cost of harming another living creature. My problem is that as a vegan, it is incredibly difficult to find affordable and ethical companies and brands that don’t contribute to animal testing and have items without any animal bi-products. I’m on a budget like so many of us are, so I’ve had to diligently research the animal testing policies of companies because many corporations aren’t open and honest with us.
*Disclaimer: I am not a scientist, nor an expert by any means. I’m just a normal girl who is very passionate about ending cosmetic animal testing. I always recommend researching every product and all of the ingredients before you decide to purchase and support a company and/or product.

Alien and Aliens are my fave sci-fi/horror movies of all time and we named our kitty Ripley after Ellen Ripley from the movies. I thought it would be fun to do a straight up comic book ink ✍️ creation with this piece and this was the result!

‘’Chaos Is What Killed the Dinosaurs, Darling,” by Kristy Cutsforth, 2022, painted in Procreate. This was inspired by everyone’s fave sociopath, J.D. from Heathers, as played by Christian Slater. I’m not used to painting men, so this one took me quite awhile to get right, I’m really happy with how this turned out! I’m done with my Heather’s series for now, although I may go back and make oil painting versions of the other Heathers at some point. Next, I really want to make some Ellen Ripley fan art since I feel like I’m getting the hang of doing portraits finally.

I actually had a good hair day today so I decided to let my natural waves run loose. I’m wearing my new fave matte red lipstick, GXVE Original Red by Gwen Stefani…my go to red vegan lipstick of all time.

French style portobello mushroom stew with French lentils, fire roasted tomatoes, mirapoix (onion, celery, lentils), bay leaves, cooked down Cabernet savignon, thickened with a roux. I get more umami by using A1, soy sauce, and vegan beef boil lion cubes). Served on top of buttery mashed potatoes (100% vegan of course!)

Cuddling with my son, Spike!!! He’s the sweetest little guy in the world, especially when it’s just me and him. He’s definitely a mama’s boy. He absolutely loves tummy rubs too, and he makes the cutest little chirps when I pet him while he’s sleeping.
