Some hair strongly does what it wants to do no matter what you try to tell it to do… and some hair is more compliant and will take suggestions to heart. I meet a lot of curly hair that is being treated like straight hair and so it is going along with your suggestions to the best of its ability. YET THAT DOESN’T MEAN THAT IT ISN’T TRULY CURLY…what it naturally wants to do is curl and when given what it needs and treated the way it needs to be treated, IT WILL HAPPILY CURL. It will do it better and better as you continue to encourage it to live doing its natural movement.
(A good cut helps as well.)
