Well, the Vikings season didn't go as I had hoped, but when has it? Oh well, there is always next year!
I would like to thank everyone who attended the Trims & Touchdowns this year. I had fun and look forward to next season. The end of season drawing for the jersey happened yesterday and Gary was the winner. Congratulations Gary!
Enjoy the playoffs and Happy New Year.

I have been thinking about what to say after yesterday's display of football awesomeness by our beloved Minnesota Vikings...but I still haven't come up with anything worth saying. I have read this season being compared to the Les Stekel(sp) season, and I know that was bad, but it was so long ago I cannot remember it being this bad. I am understanding that you want to stay with your investment(JJ Mac), but with all of your excellent receivers dropping passes, you have to think that perhaps the other factor in the equation might have a problem. It would appear that he is holding onto the ball way to long and you know our guys are getting open. It doesn't change this drastically in one season.
Help me understand, just kidding, things are what they are!
Anyhow, the barbershop will be open Tuesday the 25th and Wednesday the 26th regular business hours and then closed for Thanksgiving and Friday. I will tell you that I am thankful for you all and also that the Vikings are not playing Thursday!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy your family and friends, and we will see you soon.

Well, it is a good thing Trims & Touchdowns isn't based Vikings success, we might have to cancel tomorrow's event.
But, it is game on and Trims &Touchdowns on!
Remember that doors open at 11:30 and cuts begin at kickoff.
If you are a packer fan, come sporting your favorite gear, if you dare!
Viking fans, I look forward to many great pieces of Vikings swag.
See you then!

Good evening!
I would like to thank the Veterans who stopped by today for some conversation, coffee and haircuts(and cookies).
Throughout the day I had the opportunity to listen to many recollections of time spent in foreign lands as well as our country while serving. With the Veterans who came in, I was honored to have been able to cut the hair of men who had collectively served over 130 years for us and the USA.
These men ranged in rank as well as what they did, and some, what they continue to do.
I look forward to next Veterans Day, and hopefully, getting the word out so we can continue to say, Thank you!
I would also like to give a shout out to the folks at Lakeshirts. They were able to get the design idea in my head, onto a shirt, and do it in a short period of time. To Precision Printing for getting a banner created and printed quickly.
To Tim for dropping off a gift for all the Veterans from the 59er Cafe. And to the folks who saw or heard about our Haircuts 4 Heroes, and dropped off goodies for them to enjoy while they waited.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a success.
Have a great evening.
God bless our Veterans, and God bless the USA.

Haircuts for Heroes – Honoring Our Veterans This Veterans Day
We all know someone — a family member, a friend, someone from church, or maybe just a familiar face around town — who made a promise bigger than themselves. These are the men and women who decided that their love for country, for community, and for freedom was worth pledging their lives to protect. Because of their courage, you and I get to live in a nation that values liberty, opportunity, and one another.
This Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11th, I want to say thank you in my own small way. Here at Barber Jon’s, I’ll be hosting Haircuts for Heroes — a day to give back to those who’ve given us so much.
From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., all Veterans are invited to come in for a free haircut. No appointments necessary — just stop by, grab a chair, share a few stories, and enjoy some time with fellow Veterans and community members. Sometimes the best part of a haircut isn’t the trim, but the conversation and camaraderie that come with it.
To all who have served, and to the families who have stood beside them — thank you. Your sacrifices have built the foundation of this great nation and continue to inspire all of us every day.
God Bless our Veterans, and God Bless America.

I would like to take a moment to say how great it was to have a Trims & Touchdowns again yesterday. Although the outcome of the game wasn't quite what we had hoped for, the food was good and the banter was much fun! The next Trims & Touchdowns is set for Sunday the 23rd of November. Game time noon, doors open, 11:30.
This is the road Packer game, so bring your best talk Packer fans, but don't be too upset when the Vikings win!

Good evening everyone!
Just a reminder that the doors open at 11:30 tomorrow morning for Trims & Touchdowns. If you have been to one before, you know what to expect, if not, stop by and enjoy the game!
See you there

Good evening everyone! Well, what a first game. It ended well but was a bit nerve racking. This is what we have come to expect though, so nothing new. Here's to the remainder of the season not being quite as stressful.
I have a date for the first Trims & Touchdowns of the season. Sunday, October 19th. It is the home game against the Eagles. I know it is a ways out, but scheduling issues are there. So this is the first one, and I am trying to figure out others with hunting and the Holidays. I will keep you posted.
As in the past, the door will open 30 minutes prior to kickoff. Haircuts will only take place during the actual game playing. Kickoff until halftime, then second half kickoff until the end. No haircuts will start after the conclusion of the game.
Upon arrival, if you are interested in a haircut, you need to put your name in the appropriate bucket and then a name will be drawn before kickoff and then at the end of each haircut. There is no guarantee of a haircut, it depends on the number of participants.
Come for food, fun and hopefully a Vikings Victory. Wear your jerseys(19 is always a good one!)
I look forward to seeing many of you there. We are limited in space, so get there early!

ps I will be out of the Barbershop September 16th - 19th. I will return Tuesday the 23rd. I have only a couple of spots left this week and then I am scheduling into the week of the 23rd. Please keep that in mind when looking for a haircut.
Friday, March 10th, 2023. If you have been in the shop since then, you have heard why that date is significant for Barber Jon.
Besides being the day that the Minnesota Vikings cut hometown guy Adam Thielen, it was Barber Jon's birthday. Many of you know, tough day. As the subsequent March 10ths have passed, memories were refreshed, emotions stirred, salt in old wounds.
Today was a happy day in the barbershop. Not only did the new popcorn machine arrive, but we got Adam back on the Vikings. I must say, it's about time. As we all know, he was productive in Carolina and I cannot wait to see him this season.
Here is to hoping that O'Connell uses him correctly and according to his skills, and not let his biases towards him interfere.
Due to to this development, we will be having Trims & Touchdowns this season. Many things had stopped when they cut Adam, they brought him back, we will bring them back. Also, you will notice the Barberpole outside reflects the football season.
Welcome home Adam, welcome home!
I will be releasing the Trims & Touchdowns schedule soon. Stay Tuned!
SKOL!!

Good afternoon!
So many things to say, so few lines. I will make it quick.
November is here and has brought many things with it.
A Vikings win(about time), election day(get out and vote), deer hunting this coming weekend, still no snow and most of the leaves are down.
Which brings up a couple of closures.
Saturday, November 9th
Saturday, November 16th(if I fail at hunting the first weekend)
Thursday, November 28th-Thanksgiving.
If something changes I will post it.
Good luck hunting to all and be safe.
Have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!
