Becoming a mother has showed me the preciousness of receiving, giving and sharing moments or gifts as they become a symbol amongst the daily happenings within and around us all. Back pain is something I’ve been navigating for well over a decade, which is why I created Sassy Salve. I wanted to use something daily that was actually effective but also natural, and made with only ingredients I could trust. In 2014 I made my first batch.

The Sassy recipe is made with herbal-infused oils and nourishing botanicals, including CBD, which are all known to support the body and help ease tension when applied topically. Every ingredient is chosen with care, and I’ve taken these to get familiar with their properties, grow and harvest what I am able, and bring a focus to the infusion of each separate herb or ingredient as it becomes one.

Sassy Salve, an all natural and herbal CBD topical for pain relief!

This is an absolute favorite at our practice and many clients enjoy its soothing effects during their massage session. If you’ve booked a session at Apotheca’s wellness house, you’ve likely seen it on the shelf or have had it offered during your session!

Here’s a little history about Sassy Salve…

Marie created this recipe and learned to grow herbs and formulate products as an action to take healing into her own hands after a major back surgery. She had a lumbar spinal fusion that sent her pain signals in every direction, and while still regaining function to her legs and back, realized that there must be an answer to chronic pain aside from medications. As a previous athlete, she knew all of the top brand products like icy hot and tiger balm but they weren’t strong enough. After researching some of common oils used for pain relief, Marie started to explore herbal infusions, and increased the strength to get the most essentials from each plant.
It’s now been 10 years of making sassy salve which Marie now uses daily to manage her chronic pain, alongside a yoga practice, massage or other regular holistic bodywork. It has helped so many others over the years and is what continues to encourage more production and promotion of this salve in wellness settings.

You’ll find Sassy Salve to have a rich creamy texture, with an aromatic scent, and an active effect of localized heating and cooling. The medicinal plants used, includes CBD, all contribute to a powerful medley that may increase blood flow, soften nerve stimulus, and reduce inflammation. You can really feel it working or simply enjoy the cooling tingle.
