Katelyn Rae Hair

Today I emptied my station and walked out of the salon for the last time as a stylist. That chair has been a special place for me for years. I couldn’t begin to count how many people I have cared for in that chair. It’s been where I have created beautiful looks and where many have laughed and cried. I’m very thankful to have had such a great space to work in. Thank you and all the girls I worked with that were only extremely professional and inspiring. Thanks to my wonderful guests for giving me an amazing career. Words cannot express my love for you. Thank you to my husband who shared caring for our son which allowed me to work without having to hire childcare. He did many late nights and very long Saturdays with our little crazy boy at home. Anyone who’s a partner of a hairstylist knows when we say we’re getting out at 8 pm sometimes that means 10 pm. He’s been very patient with the quirks of being a hairstylist husband. I’ll miss the creative outlet and the social opportunities Ive had while caring for my guests but I’m excited to spend time with my family and welcome our little girl into the world very soon.

As I get closer to the delivery of my second child many have been asking about the timing of my maternity leave. It’s with a lot of consideration, a heavy heart and much excitement that I’ve decided to put the shears and brushes down to focus on the care of my family.

This career has been more amazing than I could have ever imagined. I received the most incredible education. I’ve worked with many talented and wonderful stylists. I’ve been blessed with clients that are irreplaceable in my heart. Being a hairstylist has been the most rewarding career I could have dreamt for myself both creatively and emotionally. I love creating looks for my guests that fit them and their hair perfectly. I have Also loved walking through life with my guests (for some over a decade). I’ve seen you grow and evolve through your lives. I’ve laughed with you and held you while you cried. I’ve help cancer survivors grow back their hair and I’ve done your hair for your weddings. For a few I’ve said goodbye on this side of life and wept over the loss of you or for those that have lost. You all have also walked with me through life. All the ups and downs and twists and turns. There’s been so many. I’m so blessed. I’ll miss you all individually so much. From the bottom of my heart thank you.

As for my leave, my last day will be April 1st. Please reserve your appointment as soon as you can. I want to do my best to get everyone in at least one more time. If you struggle to find a time that will work for you please get a hold of me. I will be releasing all color formulas for your future stylist to help with your transition.

How gorgeous is Andrea!?! We went for a rich fall softly dimensional brown and it looks so beautiful and natural on her.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of doing the hair for my husband’s cousin’s wedding who has become a good friend. You should have Seen the wedding venue and the bridal cabin!! One of the prettiest places I’ve done hair. They were both on islands in a gorgeous lake. Sometimes I get to do what I love, for people I love in places that are breathtaking. What a blessing!

How gorgeous is this girl?!? It’s been a joy to watch her grow up into a lovely young woman and learn to love her curls And embrace volume.

Root smudge and lowlights today to make a high maintenance blonde low maintenance and more ready for fall. The entire color was done with conditioning Demi permanent color. It’s healthier, shinier and more cost effective.
