Summer Construction Updates

Main Street Resurfacing

Work on the Main Street project is anticipated to start the week of June 8, 2026. Initial work will include traffic control signage and devices being installed and targeted sidewalk construction. The sidewalk construction will include the removal and replacement of crosswalk ramps at select intersections downtown. To maintain pedestrian access during that time, the replacement of sidewalk road crossings will be phased, with the first phase including one crossing at Alpine St./Main St. and one crossing at Broad St./Main St.; and the second phase including two crossings at Broad St/Main St. Construction schedule is tentative and weather-dependent.

This is a friendly reminder that throughout construction, downtown businesses will be open!

Washtenaw County Road Commission Roundabout

The following work is currently taking place as a part of the WCRC roundabout project:

Sidewalk construction at Baker Rd./Main St., Meadow View Dr./Dexter-Ann Arbor Rd., and Dan Hoey Rd./Dexter-Ann Arbor Rd. is anticipated to begin on or after June 11th.
Work will continue at the Island Lake Rd and Dexter-Pinckney Rd intersection installing curb lines and adding turn lames.
Work has begun on Island Lake Rd between Dexter-Chelsea Rd and Dexter-Pinckney Rd.
Underground stormwater structures are being installed and pavement is being removed.

Island Lake Rd between Dexter-Pinckney Rd and Dexter-Chelsea Rd remains closed to all traffic (vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians). Please follow the posted detours.

Dexter-Chelsea Trail

Construction has begun on the City side of Mill Creek. The boardwalk between the Main Street Bridge and the parking lot at the end of Grand Street near Forest Lawn Cemetery has been closed, and a portion of the boardwalk has been removed. This portion of the trail will be closed for the duration of the project, with a detour posted for the following route highlighted by the green line in the image below. As for parking, the red polygon indicates the portion of the parking lot closed for construction staging and the green box showing where parking is still available in the lot.

We are looking for an experienced stylist to join our growing salon. Bringing a clientele is preferred, but not required as we are always taking new clients! We are a hybrid salon, offering both rent and commission.

We are located right in downtown Dexter which comes with countless benefits! In addition, we have a full backbar of Redken color and products, a wide array of products for purchase from top brands like Redken and Amika, a receptionist team that helps to keep things running smoothly, as well as a beautiful salon to work in!
