A year ago, a client came in wanting to work on her skin texture and smile lines. During her consult, our nurse asked about a small scab on her cheek. She said it had been there a while and would come close to healing, but never fully would. Jessie urged her to come back for a full skin check and have it biopsied.

Results confirmed Melanoma on both her cheek and the inside of her arm. We quickly transferred her care to a specialist so she could have a more extensive procedure to remove all of the cancer cells. It’s shocking how far and deep Melanoma spreads.

We often think of moles/freckles that grow or change over time to be suspicious, but any blemish or lesion that “just never goes away” is a big red flag. 🚩🚩🚩 As we wrap up National Skin Cancer Awareness Month, we want to remind you that your skin remembers those sunburns you got growing up.
