It’s Time to Kill the Old Propaganda About Gray Hair

For decades, gray hair has been unfairly linked with aging, weakness, and fading beauty. We’ve been sold the lie that to be youthful or attractive, you must cover every silver strand. But let’s be honest—that narrative is tired, outdated, and frankly, insulting.

Especially for women, the pressure is relentless. Society expects them to stay “forever young,” to erase every wrinkle and dye every gray—while men are allowed to age naturally and are even praised for their “distinguished” silver.

This double standard has to end.

Gray hair isn’t a flaw. It’s not something to hide or fix. It’s a crown of wisdom, strength, and confidence. It tells your story—every strand earned through laughter, struggle, love, and growth.

We need to stop treating gray hair like a sign of “giving up” and start celebrating it as a sign of stepping into your true self without apology. This isn’t about age—it’s about authenticity, self-acceptance, and the power of choice.

Long live silver beauty

This is my lovely lady Kathleen. I've been doing her hair every 4 weeks for 20 years. Never did I think she would be my very first wig sale. Very mixed emotions but she was thrilled and said several times, "it's me, this is me!”

These are the 11 Raquel Welsh wigs I have in the salon. I carefully selected a variety of styles and colors for potential clients to be able to see, feel and try on. I plan to add to these along the way to give my clients even more in store choices.

For those who don’t choose an in store wig there are dozens more to choose from! We will be able to look in the catalogs and feel the beautiful color swatches I have here to make sure we choose the perfect wig for every clients needs!

I couldn’t be more excited for my new adventure!!! I’m truly honored that I have been given this gift to help women feel good and now can help them feel more like themselves again during some of the hardest times in their lives. Women suffer from hair loss for many reasons and I’m ready to help in any way I can! More info to come!

Another transformation and she’s free from having roots ever again!! So beautiful!

Two brave ladies decided to try the first step in transitioning to their natural white hair color! Both were happy right away with the results which was a great sign! We will see if either of them sticks with it and grows the whole way out to all natural or if they will want me to add more white to the ends for better blending OR have me add lowlites of the color they used to do. Those are the options. So fun!

It felt like fall in the salon this week! A couple reds, a couple blondes with lowlites and Anne Marie’s first hilites 😍
