hi! it’s been a long time since i’ve posted here, and i’ve been getting to do some pretty cool stuff with my favorite people. like this, for example. I promise to start taking more photos to share with you! thank you to all of my clients who have turned into friends that feel like family. I truly appreciate you all! ❤️

hi, hello, how are you? buckle up. this is gunna be a long one.
do you tip your nail lady? do you tip your server at a restaurant? do you tip the pizza guy who delivers your pizza, or the doordash person who brings your dinner? the bartender who makes your drink? maybe your barista at starbucks, or the friendly guy at the dutch window? these people are providing a service for you, so the respectable thing to do is to tip them, right? and most of the time, these people are strangers.
i’ve been balancing my books the past few days and really looking at my stuff to figure out how to provide the best service and experience possible for my clients, for my friends. i’m working on a few things to implement into my business after my wedding to give each of my clients the most positive experience possible, and I noticed something that I found really ironic.
personally, I want to see my friends succeed. i’d rather give my money to someone I know and help them up the steps to success. but ironically, the average services with the lowest totals and tips, are people who consider themselves my friends.
I want to remind you what running my business consists of:
-purchasing each and every product and tool that touches your hair, out of my pocket. read that again.
-spending hours away from my children and family, to provide you with a service.
-16+ years of knowledge and experience.
-countless hours of continued education, research and communication.
-working crazy hours or sacrificing days off to accommodate your needs.
-no paid holidays.
-no paid sick time.
-no paid benefits.
-honestly, so much more.
this isn’t aimed at anyone specific, and it isn’t a passive way to ask for more tips. my business is successful, and I love what I do. ((but I do SO appreciate those who do!))
my intention is to bring something to light that I think is important: support your friends, be thankful for anyone in any industry who provides you with a service, and instead of expecting a “hook up” on something, start paying for the value in which someone is giving you.
thank you for coming to my ted talk. 🤍

THIS. this is why I do what I do. is a complete badass mama, unapologetically herself, and the type of friend we all need. she’s been growing her hair out for a couple years now, and we’ve done some variations of blonde…but today we made a change. today, we gave her a color and style that felt “right.” a look that looks like who Leah really is. this was exciting, satisfying and empowering for me to do. I hope you feel beautiful, strong and empowered by this change. I love you, friend! cheers to so many new amazing chapters to come. 💕
