1. Sunbathing causes hair loss.

This is a myth. Yes, ultraviolet light is bad for the hair shaft. It can damage hair, making it more brittle, but it doesn't cause hair loss. We recommend using hair conditioner in hot sunny weather, and wearing a hat.

2. Bald men have higher testosterone levels

Studies show that balding men have exactly the same testosterone levels as other men. This fact is more evidence that the hair follicles are very sensitive to the effects of hormones in the body. A determining factor in this sensitivity is genetics.

3. When you are young, your hair should not fall out.

The truth is that it's all very individual and hair loss depends on a variety of factors. For example, hair loss may start as early as age 20 because of heredity or hormonal imbalance.
Also, nutritional deficiencies and digestive disorders can be causes of hair loss at an early age.

4. Hair loss can't be stopped.

It's not really that critical. On the contrary, alopecia is often temporary in nature. For example, alopecia is common in the postpartum period and pregnancy, as well as during other hormonal changes. We are starting a series of posts on "The Best Products for Hair Growth and Strengthening".

So here are the top five.

As part of our project, we conducted an online survey, "What hair care product do you use? More than 300 people responded. The survey included both people who are concerned about their hair and people who think their hair is in normal condition.
And here are the results in percentages:
75% for shampoo
8% - conditioner
3% - hair mask
1% - hair dye
10% - other (mostly specialized products)

How to take care of your hair in summer

Summer is coming, and in the summer there are additional factors that adversely affect our hair.

First of all, it is the ultraviolet light. Both skin and hair also need to be protected from the sun's rays with specialized products containing UV filter. Moreover, the higher the number indicated on the package, the better.

A simple test for hair loss activity.

The daily loss of 50-150 hairs does not affect the density of your hair because the hair follicle maturation cycle is asynchronous, that is, all hairs are in different phases.

But how do you know how much hair you're losing in a day?

There is a relatively simple subjective-objective way to determine hair loss activity that anyone can do at home. This is a traction test or hair tension test.

To do this test is simple.
Grasp a strand of hair with your fingers and pull moderately.
Do not pull the hair out with force, but pull calmly.

The best time to do the test is 24 hours after you wash your hair.
Normally, after 4-6 pulls, you may have 1-2 hairs left in your hands. With pathological hair loss, 3-10 or more hairs will remain in the hand after each traction.
