Rainbow oil slick vibes!

This is a friend/fellow stylist's hair who is getting married in August! I'm so happy to do wedding hair/colors but I prefer to do it like this, especially when trying out something new. Doing her hair for a cycle, long before the wedding date allows us to tweak it with more than enough time to make adjustments with the final color months from now.

Included in the mix are her before photos, a full head Lightner and rainbow placement, very faded and lots of roots! Not to worry, I love a challenge. I clarified her hair twice before the lightning service to ensure that no product buildup or minerals messed with the transition. I sprayed K18 Hair molecular repair mist on towel dried hair after a much needed trim to even out porosity and help the Lightner cause less damage to her cuticle, (a new addition to my services!) I mixed her brown color for the back, sides and slices on top and included my fillers inside the formula for even coverage: 1 part 5 red mahogany and 2 parts 5 gold to neutralize the existing blue and purple tones in her hair alongside 2 parts 4nn+ Joico for maximum pigment load and even chocolate brown color to hopefully be close to her roots. This will minimize the appearance of grow out. I also mixed Olaplex into both my color and lightener and used 20-vol and Schwarzkopf blondeme Lightner to lighten the slices on top alongside her brown color. I washed it all out, dried it up and did my Danger Jones Creative rainbow panels overdirected to the front of her face so as she wears them the color lines will be broken up into the Halo prism holographic look that I so love.
Finished it off with olaplex #2 to seal the cuticle and a mix of olaplex intense moisture treatment and Joico protein hair repair masque to seal it all in!

Spring goth vibes

Obsessed with this rainbow queen from today! I knew the plan ahead of time, so I coordinated with the color palette and turned this little lady's first salon experience into her dream hair!

Wanna try a rainbow but aren't sure how it fades?? The color line I use, Danger Jones, has THE most beautiful pastel tones as the vibrance washes away.

This is the fade out of a hot pink/purple color melt with halo prism rainbow panels. The original color was done December 1st and the fade out photos were taken at her next appointment more than halfway through March!!! That's a wonderfully long amount of time for any color to last, let alone a vivid semi-permanent color. But here's the thing: this client is a swim team coach!!! That means that her full time job includes swimming in chlorinated pools, which is one of the mortal enemies of vivid hair!!!
... But how?!?

I'll tell you how! Every appointment includes education about to maintain your color in addition to top quality products used and treatments to even porosity, maintain health and encourage longevity. I searched high and low to find out that pre-wetting your hair before entering a pool greatly reduces the probability that the chlorine water will be absorbed by the hair, and even more so, adding a little conditioner can help to coat the hair. It's not a hard and fast rule because every head of hair is different, but knowledge is power!
