I've been a professional hairdresser since 2003, and see clients in the comfort & privacy of my home, as well as SalonQ in Downers Grove.
I graduated from the Aveda Institute in Chicago in 2003, and began working in Lakeview Chicago at Orbit Salon. Diversity in hair care lines, color lines, and clientele gave me a great foundation to my early education and experience. My passion quickly became cutting and coloring. I studied under Vidal Sassoon and Tony&Guy educators during my early apprenticeship, and enjoyed 6+ years working at Orbit Salon. I still have the pleasure of working with many of my original clients. :)
In 2009 I started exploring other opportunities and worked for 2.5 yrs at Karma Salon in Andersonville, 3 yrs at The Colour Room in Lakeview, and then came back to Orbit Salon in 2015. During my adventures in hairdressing in Chicago, I moved to Naperville in 2013. The commute and needs of my children has me pursue salons closer to home, and in 2015 I began working at Beauty On The Main in Downers Grove, In 2016 I found a better opportunity for creative color at Wild Orchid Salon in Darien. Eventually I found salons didn’t allow me to accommodate my clients in the way I wanted, and began seeing clients in my home. 3 years ago we purchased a home that allowed me to have a casual hair studio. I currently see most clients in my home, but I do have privileges at Salon Q in Downers Grove for those that prefer that location, or a more traditional salon setting. I strive to accommodate all my clients and their schedules. If you do not see an available day or time on my schedule, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you. Sam’s full life of art and adventures means I’m only able to catch up with her and her hair every few months. So we need an easy to maintain color. We brighten her while still leaving lots of natural underneath for dimension and blended grow out.

✨ Exciting news from Salon Q! ✨
I’m so excited to finally share that beginning November 1st, I’ll be stepping into a new role as the owner of Salon Q! 🩷
As Salon Q’s current owner steps back to focus differently on her career and life, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue what she has built while bringing some fresh energy, new ideas, and a little bit of my own vision to the salon.
Over the coming months, you’ll start to see some exciting changes — a fresh new look for the space, new stylists joining us, continuing education, guest artists, special events, and plenty of fun ways to bring our clients and community together.
My goal is simple: to make Salon Q a place where talented stylists love to work and where our clients genuinely love to be — a salon that feels welcoming, creative, fun, and always evolving.
There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, and I can’t wait to share it all with you.
A new chapter for Salon Q begins November 1st. ✨

Happy Monday! Evelyn and I loved our fall color today! She was turning into almost a solid blonde with almost 4 inches of out growth. Working full time is Wisconsin makes it hard to keep up with her blonde blonde!! We did a softer look with highs and lows and a global toner to create a less high maintenance blonde, and ease into a fall look. We love it!
Now that school is in session, appointments after 3p go very quickly!! Please plan to prebook a week or 2 out for evening appointments.

Good morning!
As some of you know, I lost my father on August 20th. It was unexpected but I’m grateful we were all with him before his passing. He was well respected and well loved by all who knew him. The world lost a true hero, and one of the best men around.
Thank you to all who reached out with love and kind words during this difficult time.
I am working full steam ahead now. I will leave information about my father’s obituary in the comments.

My adventures in Atikokan, Canada have come to an end!! We canoed, portaged, and camped 75 miles through the Crown lands of Canada. I will never forget this experience and I am once again so blessed to be part of Troop 507. I’ll be back at the salon starting tomorrow, so please message me if you’re ready for you next appointment! I can’t wait to share stories!
