I had a great time creating some period specific characters alongside WPAA - TV and Community Media Center for the docu-film, “Fit to Print.” I think this is a great example of character, story, and historical detail coming together through makeup and hair. I created these period specific looks while trying to keep in mind how people of that time lived, worked, dressed, and presented themselves.
For this project, I focused on authentic period details through complexion, grooming, facial hair, and historically appropriate makeup choices, allowing the characters to feel lived in rather than simply “costumed.”

For this historical television production, I hand crafted and applied custom lace hair pieces designed to blend with each performer while remaining true to the time period. Every hair piece of was built strand by strand, with careful attention to historical research, hairline design, color matching, ventilation, and durability under the demands of filming.
As both a makeup artist and hairstylist, I love combining traditional techniques with modern production needs to create work that holds up while honoring the history behind each project.
