Hey brides —

I want to share some transparency about the bridal beauty industry because I think it’s important to understand when booking your vendors — especially when it comes to companies advertising very large or “always available” teams.

Many bridal team companies operate on a high-volume model, meaning they book multiple weddings per day and often prioritize availability and scale. This isn’t inherently a bad thing, but it is something worth asking questions about.

In some cases, companies will continue taking bookings even after their core team is fully committed. When that happens, they may begin sourcing additional artists last minute to fill coverage needs. Often, these artists are people they’ve never worked with before, simply because they need someone available to cover the event.

As someone in the industry, I regularly see company owners searching for primary and secondary artists in professional hair and makeup groups — sometimes a week or two before weddings.

Brides, I’m sharing this not to create fear, but to encourage you to ask thoughtful questions and fully understand who will actually be showing up on your wedding day. Independent artists also bring in additional team members for larger parties, so this applies across the board — ask about vetting processes, team consistency, and whether your artist is someone the company personally trusts and works with regularly.

To company owners: please prioritize quality and transparency. If your trusted team is unavailable for a date, it’s okay to let a bride find someone that can fully serve her with confidence. Every bride deserves to feel secure in the people showing up on one of the most important days of her life!
