1️⃣ Red light therapy has been studied for decades. In the 1990s NASA initially used red light therapy in space to help with plant growth. In 1993 they discovered healing rates improved by 40%. Today, red and near-infrared light are used in wellness, skincare, recovery, and professional settings around the world.

2️⃣ Red light therapy uses specific red and near-infrared wavelengths and does not produce a tan. UV tanning uses different wavelengths that stimulate melanin production to create tanning results. That means you don’t have to choose one or the other. At Tropical Tan, many guests incorporate both tanning and red light therapy into their self-care routine.

3️⃣ A red-colored light bulb isn't the same thing as professional red light therapy. Professional equipment is specifically designed to deliver targeted wavelengths of red and/or near-infrared light at controlled intensities. Even professional equipment varies on the amount of joules they put out.
