Due to the recent changes in our scheduling made by GA State Board of Cosmetology please keep the following in mind in regards to booking an appointment:

•Most of our stylists are atleast booked out a week, if not longer.
•Unfortunately, it is harder for us to work people in due to only having one client per stylist at a time and do the necessary sanitary clean up after each client.
•We strongly suggest that you consider booking your next appointment before you leave.
•We do have cancellations that come up, so please do not hesitate calling us if you need something last minute. Just remember that there is a chance we won't have an appointment available, but we will try our best to accommodate your needs.

Thank you to all of our amazing clients for keeping us so busy and being so understanding!
We look forward to continue to serve you through this pandemic and keep the safety of our clients, staff, and salon our number one priority!!

Today one of my clients asked me "How did you know you wanted to do hair?". My response was, "I didn't, I initially started college to be a teacher". See... "my" original plan was to be a teacher, an elementary teacher to be exact. Ever since I was a little girl that's what I wanted to be when I grew up. I played "teacher" in my room. I would "pass out papers" around my bed to my "students" and "teach" them with my marker board that I just had to have. After high school, I began college to do exactly that. Exactly what "I" had always wanted to do. It wasn't long after I started that I realized that was not I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I hated it. Every single second of it. I struggled badly. My grades were ok, but in my heart I knew that was not for me. While I was going to college I was working for a hairdresser named Heather. I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere. I loved the relationships that she built with her clients and the flexibility to a certain extent she had with her schedule and just everything that went along with the business. I started thinking that maybe I should look into going in that direction. So eventually, that's what I decided to do. I quit college, even though my parents didn't want me to, but at 18 years old I knew I would not be happy doing what I originally set out to do. I looked into a few schools that offered Cosmetology and finally decided to apply for Swainsboro Technical College. I had the HOPE scholarship, so I knew most of it would be paid for if I chose STC instead of a private college. Thank you, Jesus. Plus, they had a 100% passing rate for the board exams, which I thought was impressive. It took me 15 months to complete the program. Cosmetology programs in technical colleges take a little longer because you have to take three core classes before getting into the program. About five months after I took my state board exam, I applied for a job as a hairdresser with Jeff at Jeff Daniel Salon. My first day as a hairdresser was St. Patrick's Day of 2009. I was scared and nervous to say the least. Of course when you first start out as a hairdresser... you do a lot of sitting and waiting. So while I sat and waited, I also watched him and learned a lot just by observing. He was awesome at what he did, just like Heather and I feel so blessed to have worked with them the few years I was able to. Once I got a clientele built up and was comfortable with life, I guess you could say, the opportunity came up of purchasing the salon. The opportunity was due to Jeff's unfortunate circumstances, that could not be helped and to be honest owning/running a salon was never one of my intentions. I wanted to go to work, pay my rent, go home, and not have to worry about anything else until the next working day. So after a few months of going back and forth with my husband on the idea of buying it... I mentioned to Jeff that we were thinking about it and my exact words were, "I'm going to pray about it, if it works out then it works out and if It doesn't work out, then so be it". I put it in Gods hands. Well... you already know how it ended up... it worked out. I signed the papers on July 11, 2013. That makes Cutting Edge Salon a whole seven years old today and had my client not inquired about my career, I wouldn't have even noticed what today was. At 25 years old, I purchased a salon yall. When I think back on it, I just laugh. That twenty-five year old didn't have near as much anxiety and gray hair as this thirty- two year old does. I'll be honest though... this gray hair is a result of a combination of things and this anxiety just straight up comes from the devil. I remember while we were sitting in the closing room waiting on my mom to make some copies of the docs, I asked Jeff was he nervous or sad about selling his salon. His response, "No, but if it was anybody but you, I would be". That immediately lifted my worries and fears. He worked with me for a few months after the purchase and sadly God took him home. If I said these last seven years were easy, I would be lying. I will tell you that these last seven years have been worth it though. I will also tell you that these last seven years have been directed and overseen by God. These last seven years have been a rollercoaster. From totally remodeling the salon to being shut down for five weeks because of Covid-19 and all in between, it has been a ride yall. It's been a ride that I would do time and time again. Why you ask? Because its been God's ride. God had another plan for my life... one that I didn't have a clue about because I was too busy making my own plans. God has blessed me in so many ways through so many different situations that I have lost count. This salon has given me the opportunity to meet some amazing souls that will forever have a place in my heart and some that will be lifelong friends. It has also given me the opportunity to meet some not so amazing souls that have taught me some valuable life lessons and I am truly thankful for both! I have been blessed with an awesome business partner that I get to come home to every day. He never hesitates to give me advice and helps me with what ever I need doing.. I may have to remind him a few times but eventually he gets it done. I have been blessed with the most amazing salon family that I am truly grateful for. These peeps keep me sane everyday and I am so honored to be able to work along the side of the best of the best. I have been blessed with awesome clients who are my family. I've cried with my clients, laughed with my clients, I've watched their kids grow, we have talked each other through some hard times, and rejoiced over some good times. As I was driving home tonight after being at the salon for almost 14 hours today (I had some paperwork to finish up after I got done with clients) I was just thinking of how blessed and grateful I am.. tears came to my eyes because even though there are times when I'm completely exhausted and still have so much to get done that I cant see the end of the tunnel, I know that this is Gods plan for my life because he helps me through it every single day. Im not proud to say this, but I fail God every single day, as we all do, but I am proud to say that God never fails me. His grace and unconditional love are always there to catch me when I fall and I know it is through Him and only Him that I've survived this whole "Salon Thang" thus far. Let's face it, He is the reason I've made it through life thus far. I just wanted to say on this seventh year of owning Cutting Edge Salon...Thank you to everyone who makes Cutting Edge Salon what it is and for trusting us with your hair needs. I look forward to many more years as long as that's in Gods plan. His plan is always better than our own plans, we just have to trust Him to carry us through His plans for our lives. God put it on my heart to share this small piece of my testimony with you all and I believe that when God puts something on our hearts that means it is on His heart too. God bless you all!

We are so excited to be able to get back behind the chair! We know everyone is way past due for an appt, but please be patient and understanding as we get everyone worked back in. Due to the Covid 19 concerns for our clients and stylists, we at CES are taking extreme precautions and sanitary measures to make sure to keep the salon extra clean in between clients. To help us keep business running smoothly, please adhere to the following guidelines:
•Only the client receiving service is allowed in the salon.
•If you have a mask, please bring it and wear it while getting your service.
•If you have been sick or been around someone sick, please wait 14 days before rescheduling.
•Please let your hairstylist know you have arrived , and wait in your car or outside in the chairs provided until the stylist is ready for you.
•CES staff will be rotating shifts to keep the number of people in the salon to a minimum, so please contact your stylist so he/she can get you set up with an appointment on their designated days.
•If you need to cancel or reschedule an appt, please respectfully let us know 24 hours in advance so we can have plenty of time to fill it as appts are limited and are in high demand.
•Please keep in mind that in order for the rescheduling process to be fair for everyone, appts will be rescheduled starting with the clients that had to be canceled first. ♡

Thank you so much to our loyal clients... we love you and we cant wait to see you!
