Happy Friday Announcement!
Next Friday (May 14th) I'm driving down to Mpls/StP to do in-home massage! I'll be taking appointments for Friday and Saturday. DM or text 651-399-3845 to set up an appointment. Masks required, I am vaccinated and extra sanitation measures are practiced.

Seven years ago I went to Alaska for the winter and worked as a dog handler for a kennel with 62 dogs. It was tough work, long hours, and so much dog s**t! I did get to participate in a couple sprint races which was pretty badass! (Pictured is me approaching the finish line of a four mile race during which I got dragged by my team for a good while).
When the job was over I got a massage at the Captain Cook Hotel in Anchorage and it was the first time I'd been touched in 4 months. I remember the massage therapist so clearly, his name was Craig, and the focus and attention that my haggard body received was life changing. That was the massage that inspired me to go to school and become a massage therapist. Simply being touched had a profound effect on me and I'm forever grateful for that session.

My first experiences receiving massage were hand massages from my mom during church.
I've always been a energetic bouncy individual and I could never sit still during a two hour mass, probably still couldn't today... So my mom would give me hand massages which chilled me out.
Massage stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, also known as the "rest and digest system" and sends the signal to your brain to relax your muscles :)

When I first started doing massage the idea of getting an office was scary and overwhelming but bringing the whole shabang to clients houses was much less scary... So that's how I started back in 2016!
I do carry my table like this if there's an epic flight of stairs (or when navigating the craggy basalt shore or Gitchi Gummi)

Getting a massage in your house is quite a treat! Afterwards you just cozy up and enjoy the lovely feels and no need to turn back on and drive anywhere !

I suppose I could formally introduce myself and put a face to the hands :)
My name is Mary Claire Picard, but I go by MC, Sizzle, McClure, etc. (I don't go by Etcetera but we could start today..jkjk)

Five years ago I graduated from St Paul College with a massage therapy certificate. After finishing school I did massage in people's homes while working at a restaurant in Mpls. I still do off-site massage, especially when I visit OG clients in Mpls!

Last year I got a little office in downtown Duluth and then Covid-19 hit and plans to launch this business were put on the back burner. Now with a new spring approaching, going to try try again!

I love doing massage, I love helping people feel better, I love the inspiration I get from clients and the challenges the human body and muscles present.

My name is Mary Claire Picard and I am a licensed massage therapist based in Duluth, Minnesota. When I'm not playing outside and going to the BWCA, I do massage out of a cute little office downtown Duluth. I am also available to do offsite massage in your home as well!
I offer traditional Swedish massage which takes place on a heated table and each session is tailored for the clients specific needs, be that relaxation, deep tissue or focusing in a particular 'problem area'.
I also offer Thai massage as well which takes place on a mat on the floor. The client is clothed and the massage involves a lot of stretching and deep compression.
I follow current CDC guidelines and all equipment is sanitized before and after each session. Masks are required by all parties!
I have also received the Pfizer two-part Covid Vaccine as well.
