Project Feature: Sea Glass - a home shaped by its site, its views, and the natural beauty around it.
Perched along the coastal cliffs of Brookings, Oregon, Sea Glass was designed to frame the endless ocean views while feeling completely at home in its surroundings. The entire residence is clad in Ash Thermowood®, finished in Smokey Grey by Cutek — a material palette that echoes the weathered tones of the coast while bringing warmth, texture, and depth to the modern architecture.

Some spaces demand wood that barely moves at all. Saunas. Millwork. Interior wall and ceiling applications where a board that shifts even slightly is a board that causes problems.
Thermo-S is modified at lower temperatures — 190°C — specifically for stability in controlled environments. The result is wood that holds its dimensions through humidity swings, stays flat, and finishes beautifully for interior applications where the material is up close and personal.
Refined, precise, and exactly what it needs to be.

Perched above the Lake Shore in Minnesota, this custom-built home showcases the natural character and refined performance of Arbor Wood Co.’s Natrl Line of vertical grain thermally modified pine. From the beginning, the design called for a clean, uninterrupted vertical siding application—making the continuity of the wood grain an important part of the overall aesthetic.
Each board carries its own natural grain pattern, creating a façade that reads as clean and cohesive from a distance while revealing depth, movement, and variation up close.

Some projects are measured by their scale. Others by the legacy they leave behind.
We’re honored that Arbor Wood Co. Thermowood® ash decking was selected for the boardwalk at the new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Medora, North Dakota. Designed to immerse visitors in one of America’s most remarkable landscapes, the boardwalk invites guests to experience the Badlands that helped shape Roosevelt’s passion for conservation.
Built to perform in demanding outdoor environments while celebrating the beauty of natural wood, our thermally modified ash was a fitting choice for a project centered on stewardship, sustainability, and enduring design.
We’re grateful to have contributed to a landmark that will inspire generations to come. Learn more about the project through the link in our bio.
