This was not a normal blonding session...
There are several factors that go into achieving a transformation like this in one session. And there's no magic involved!!

1- Virgin hair
This client hasn't colored her hair in almost 3 years, and her last color service was a lightening session. Virgin hair gives us the opportunity to achieve even and optimal lift while maintaining the integrity of the hair. Leaving your hair as healthy as possible.

2- Length Modification
She was willing to have a significant amount of length cut and wanted some soft flowy layers added throughout. Due to previously lightened hair, and length of time between haircuts, she had significant split ends and heat damage. A healthy cut adds to the beauty of the color!!

3- TIME
We spent 5 hours together creating this transformation! First we discussed her hair goals for this session, hair history and the process of achieving this look. Then we moved into the coloring process, starting with step one of the K18 treatment and a gentle lifting, ammonia free lightener and switched to a higher lightener on the top section to get the last section to lift quickly. We then washed out the color, toned/glazed her hair to achieve the desired tone and deep conditioned. And finally the haircut and blowout!

I also sent her home with some different product samples to try- and figure out which ones were her favorite. We offer the convenient option to purchase with affiliate links and have them shipped right to your home!! This part is kinda magical 😉

It's been a hot minute since I've posted, or been into work for that matter 🙄

My last day was August 5th and it's been a rollercoaster since! I spent 3+ weeks in bed before I could have surgery on a herniated disc in my neck. I also managed to catch the good ole covid in the middle of it!!
So let's just say- I'm happy August and surgery are over!!!!
On the bright side- my online booking is OPEN starting October 2nd!! 💃✨

I'll be back for shorter days until I get my hair lady legs and arms back in shape, and so I don't overdo my neck right away...

Meet the stylists at London Rayne!

Welcome to London Rayne Salon! I’m Kelsey, originally from Marquette, MI and am now proudly serving Duluth and the Twin Ports area since 2012.

I’ve been a stylist for 20+ years and have never been more in love with my clients or my craft! I specialize in all things blonde and hand tied extension methods. I take great pride in the fact that I travel for advanced color formulations and to keep up with the ever changing extension methods at least twice annually.

While most stylists offer a great first visit and solid maintenance care thereafter, I see my role as your stylist a bit different. I work together with all of my guests to create a long term hair care plan to ensure their color, cut and style are always looking fresh and there will never be a time where you feel bored or stuck in a routine. I’ll be checking in throughout the year to see if any new issues have come up and we’ll work through them together.

When I’m not in the salon, I put my adventure hat on and am seeking out new hiking trails, waterfalls and beaches. You can also find me trying all the new IPA’s at a local brewery or new appetizers at a new restaurant. I’m an avid traveler and love seeking out the secret spots to check out.

Hey beautiful! I'm Chelsey, your local go to girl for hair extensions and beautiful color! I'm originally from the North shore area and I've been doing here in the industry for 15 years. I've always strived to gain more knowledge and training to better serve my clients, and continue to do so. My latest training was a Master Class training for Concealed Bead hand tied hair extensions in December 2022.
My passion is connecting with my clients and really taking the time to get to know you as a person, and your hair needs and dreams. Whatever your hair goals are, I'm confident that we can come up with a solution and look that will fit you and your lifestyle.
When you sit in my chair the first thing we'll chat about is your hair and how to make your hair goals and dreams become reality. But you can also expect to talk about the latest books we're reading, our favorite podcasts, our astrology sign, our cute pets, all things plants, music and travel adventures... There's so much to be passionate about in life and I can't wait to get to know you!
I take being your stylist and hair guru seriously- from the consultation to the application to the finishing touches. We'll have so much fun in the process and you'll learn plenty on how to take care of your new color, style and extensions.
