But before choosing your child’s next hairstyle, here are a few things parents should consider:

One of the biggest things I hear in the salon is, “My hair is 4C.” But when we actually shampoo, condition and examine the hair…we often discover something different. 👀
Curl patterns can be wavy, spiral, S-shaped, tightly coiled, zigzag—or a combination of patterns on the SAME head. And don’t let shrinkage fool you! Your hair can look much tighter and shorter when it’s dry, so looking at the hair hydrated can help you better understand how your curls naturally form.
