Have you had a tech pop your nails off? 🫩

I’ve had quite a few new clients come to me and are blown away by my soak-off process. They brace, waiting for pain, and are surprised that the entire removal process is smooth and easy. Your nail tech should NOT be popping your nails off with a tip! Point blank period. Your nails are made up of layers of tightly compressed keratin, and when a nail is forcibly removed, layers of that keratin come off with it. This leaves you with lifted layers of the nail exposed, thins out your natural nails, and causes extreme discomfort during the process. And the only way to heal is to grow those thinned layers out and trim them off. If a nail tech tries to pop your nails off with a tip, you should STOP the service, request a soak-off, and leave if they refuse or argue with you. A tech willing to do that doesn’t care about your nail health, and you should not be accepting this behavior as normal. A professional nail tech will never put your nail safety at risk this way, and should always keep your health & safety as a priority.

A soak-off involves filing down the old product, and soaking the nails in acetone, either in a bowl or with foils. The process shouldn’t hurt, and the old product should come off easily (like BUTTTAAA). It does add extra time in the service, so be prepared to relax and chill while your tech takes care of your nails safely! Good nails take time, at least in my chair they do! So, please book your soak-off with your service! 😉
