We'll be hunkering down at home on Wednesday and the office will be closed. Everybody, please be safe! As long as the lights are on, we'll be back in the office on Friday.

After Helene I noticed a few things.

1. People are more likely to hurt their back repeatedly picking up small things like yard debris than lifting one or two heavy objects. Try to remember lifting fundamentals, even for something lightweight. Either bend with your knees, or try the "golfer's lift" (see link below). Picking up 1lb objects a hundred times is the same amount of work as lifting 100lbs. Remember to take breaks.

2. Long periods of inactivity are just as likely to hurt you as excessive activity. If you can, avoid sitting for more than an hour. Take breaks to walk around the house or do some jumping jacks.

3. If you don't have a battery powered fan, get one.

Please be safe, take care of yourself and your loved ones, and ask for help when you need it! We're almost through this... right?

As we face the aftermath of hurricane Helene, our thoughts are with those impacted by the devastation. We want to take a moment to recognize the incredible individuals and organizations stepping up to help their neighbors in this time of need. Your compassion and support truly embody the spirit of community.

If you’re able, please consider making a donation to assist with relief efforts. Every contribution, no matter the size, can make a significant difference.

We’ll be donating here: https://www.volunteerflorida.org/donatefdf/

Thank you all for your strength, your compassion, and your generosity!
