One of the most popular summertime appointments….. blonding color service (foundation color, highlights, detail shades), followed by a Natural Keratin Smoothing Treatment.

Glass like finish and shiny blonde. Why would you say no to that?

PS….. Just about ANY color service can be finished with an ….. regardless of the shade, that glass like finish still seals the deal!

Making plans for summer vacation? Curious as to how you’re going to protect your hair color in the pools and on the beach? It’s EASY….. just follow these simple steps…….

First….. wet (soak) your hair with tap water from the shower.

Second….. take a cheap (store bought) conditioner, and coat your hair completely. Leave it in. Do NOT rinse. Clip up in a bun of sorts.

Third….. enjoy your time in the water and have fun.

Fourth….. when finished in the water, immediately rinse all of the conditioner completely out of your locks…… then, give yourself a good shampoo, and a light conditioning, and then carry on with your routine!

The conditioner will create a barrier between the elements and your hair. I say use a cheap one cuz you need a lot. Lol.

I love a good challenge…..

This gorgeous beauty had a few things going on that were preventing her from achieving the clear, cool blonde she has wanted forever…..

Bands. LOTS of bands, as well as several months of regrowth with a dark natural base, and inconsistent appointment intervals have created the road blocks, and I am HERE for it!

A project like this takes lots of time and requires more patience and skill than most realize. Choosing the right Colorist to take on such a project can take research and may require you to do your due diligence….. however, when you find a Colorist that not only posses the talent and skill, but also LIVES for it, you’ve got a winning combo!

While the ultimate goal (inspo not shown) is a cleaner, clearer and all over cooler blonde color, the journey getting there takes time. Can it be done in one appt? Sure. Will we have flowy, long blonde hair when it’s all said and done? Probably not. A good Colorist will explain the pros and cons of a rushed service.

This first appt took about 5.5 hours. As you can see we were able to lift the majority of the banding out and make it blend. Is it perfect? Nope. Not yet. Is her hair intact? Yep, sure is. I find it’s more important to be able to maintain the porosity and health over instant gratification.

In just one more visit (hopefully), we will get the chance to clean out the rest of that banding allowing the hair to get to that clearer, cooler tone the guest desires. Again, time and patience, along with skill produces consistent, healthy results.

Home care and maintenance are KEY to achieving the best results! Yes, it takes the skill of the Colorist, but keeping the canvas happy and healthy at home is just as important. To help maintain the integrity at home K18 Leave-In Mask will keep the hair strong, all the while prepping it for the next (and hopefully final) phase of this project. Having that next appt scheduled and keeping to that schedule is super important as well.
