My best piece of advice when choosing who will be with you on your wedding day:

Don’t just think about who you love, think about how they handle stress.

✨ Can they stay calm in a high-stress environment?
✨ Will they help problem-solve or shut down when things go sideways?

As a bridal makeup artist, I’ve heard some wild comments over the years, but I rarely take them personally. Wedding mornings can be stressful, and sometimes anxiety, overwhelm, or past experiences come out in unexpected ways.

The energy in the room matters. Surround yourself with people who help you feel calm, supported, and present on your big day. 🤍

At this point, I should start collecting these comments like Pokémon.

No feelings were harmed in the making of this series, but my ability to predict what will come out of someone’s mouth on a wedding morning certainly was. 😂

Today’s comment is another reminder that being good at makeup does not prepare you for the things people will casually say while sitting in your chair.

At this point, I’m convinced wedding mornings temporarily remove the filter between someone’s brain and their mouth. 😂

As always, no hard feelings. Most of these comments came from stressed bridal party members navigating a very emotional, chaotic day. But that doesn’t make them any less surprising when you’re standing there holding a makeup brush.

Over the years, I’ve heard some absolutely wild comments while doing makeup. To be clear, I don’t take these to heart, but every now and then a comment catches me so off guard that I have to mentally reboot for a second.

A lot of these comments were directed at my appearance that day, which is always interesting considering I’m usually focused on making you look amazing, not entering a beauty contest. 😂

Also, in fairness, the majority of these comments came from stressed bridal party members. Wedding mornings can be chaotic, emotions run high, and sometimes things come out a little differently than intended.
