A conversation sparked the other day and I remember when Lauryn Hill dropped her album in 2002 (her born year) I was obsessed with it! And that same year Venus and Serena’s dad reminded us that whatever you expose your kids to up until the age of 5 or 6, then that’s what they will be. So of course I instilled the love of our Heavenly Father in her daily, and exposed her to diversity and music. Bought her a guitar and the house we purchased had a whole piano in it so I left it in her room. Flash forward 23 years later she lives, eats and breathes music, loves God and is super diversified.😛

Oh and she learned those Lauryn Hill songs so my job was done!

One thing that’s most important in every step (shampoo, condition and styling) is making sure your hair is properly detangled from ends to the root. (Notice that direction) if you incorporate these tools the rest should be easy peasy!!

I can’t tell you how many women sit in my chair and say, “Shan, I look like a Chia Pet,” or “Girl, my hair is giving Don King.”

And honestly? I get it.

Life gets busy. Between work, family, taking care of parents, appointments, and trying to keep yourself together, your hair can end up at the bottom of the list. Next thing you know, the scarf or the ponytail becomes the style.

The women I work with aren’t trying to look 25 again. They just want healthy hair, a simple routine, and to feel beautiful when they catch their reflection in the mirror.

That’s why I’m glad to be back for a bit helping women understand what their curls actually need. Because when your hair starts cooperating again, something else happens too… you start feeling like yourself again. ❤️

Stopped by the farmers market this morning and found an olive oil cake… and baby LISTEN 😭🤎 Tell me I’m not the only one 👀 that goes foolish over their Fave food.😝

Little things hit different these days.

Also… olive oil cake is usually made with olive oil instead of heavy butter, which gives it a softer texture and a slightly lighter feel. So basically this was wellness 😌😂
