I’m Tanayza, but everyone calls me Nay.

Hair has been my passion for as long as I can remember. While other teens were studying, I was braiding in kitchens, practicing on friends, and doing anyone’s hair who sat still long enough. I didn’t choose hair… hair definitely chose me.

Even while I was in college, I always found my way back to styling. In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, I joined Hair’s Talent! A brand-new salon during a very weird time. A few months later, I became a mom, learning to build a career and raise a tiny human at the same time (with lots of determination and even more coffee!).

Five years later, I’m proud to be a GinaCurl specialist. I’ve restored curls, repaired damage, and helped clients reconnect with their confidence and natural beauty. For me, it’s more than a service..it’s a journey I share with every person who sits in my chair.

With me, you’re never just a head of hair. You’re a whole story. I’ll hype you up, teach you how to care for your curls, or give you a peaceful, quiet appointment if that’s what you need. No judgment, just support.

I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and even more excited for what’s ahead.

Hi there! I’m Giana, 29 years old— born and raised in East Haven, CT.

A little about me: I’m 50% Puerto Rican, 50% Italian, and 100% fueled by connection, creativity, and good hair 🫶 . I’ve been a stylist for almost 11 years now. I’ve lived in three different states, traveled for work, met clients all over the country, and somewhere along the way I fell in love with every texture and story that sits in my chair. ✨

My journey wasn’t a straight path. I grew up in CT, went to hairdressing school at Platt Tech, got licensed, and tbh —hair wasn’t supposed to be “the plan.” 😳 It was my Plan B, the thing I always kept on the side just to keep my hands moving and my skills seasoned. I went to college, graduated, and then made an impulsive 👀 (but exciting) move to Florida (dont get me wrong. I started my masters…managed a spa, did hair.) I wasnt moopinn around 😂

Ok so fast forwardddddd- two years later, COVID hit, and I found myself back home… only to realize that hair was my heart all along. 🥹🥹

Coming back to CT meant stepping into Hair’s Talent full time! So it’s our family-owned salon, and the legacy my mom, Gina Rivera, built over 45 years. 💅💅 She’s a textured specialist, a master educator, and a hairstylist with more knowledge in her pinky than most have in their whole body. I always worked beside her growing up, but being home full-time changed everything. I got to learn deeply—the kind of learning you can’t force or rush. She would always say “slow is fast”

So it’s April of 2020, the world is crazy pants & she began building her brand *GinaCurl*, created an online academy & even her own product line.

How can I say, “no” to working along side that journeyy! 💪💪 So, I finally got to use my degree. I helped create the curriculum, worked side-by-side with her project manager, and finally felt like those college loans might actually make sense one day (😂😩😟🥺☺️🥹😂). We launched the academy, launched our product line, and the GinaCurl community grew faster than we ever imagined.

Students were learning, succeeding, and sharing our techniques across the country. ❤️🫶

And us? Well we were still just a mother–daughter duo from a tiny town in CT. (Imagine working with your mom???! Mannnn, let me telllyaa….ok ok back to the bio, heheheh) 🥹 When people would walk in saying they found us on social media and realized we were literally down the street, it made us giggle every single time. The reach, the impact, the love—it’s been wild. 😜 🙏

Now as we head into 2026, I’ve been able to take more off my mom’s shoulders, step into more responsibility, and grow into the stylist and leader I always hoped I’d be. 🤍 Hair isn’t something I do because my mom does it. Hair is something I do because I was born for this. ✨🙏

I love people. I love connection. And yesssss… I can have 5 conversations with 10 different subject lines all at once. True story….Sad story….honeslty it gives character 😂

My brain never slows down. But ONLY when I’m doing hair it does. That’s where I’m calm, thats where i feel grounded, and completely myself.
