Why Local Flowers Last Longer Than Imported 08/24/2026

Here’s why local flowers outlast imported ones. Imported blooms spend 5-7 days in transit, exposed to ethylene gas and temperature swings, which shortens their life. Local flowers can go from harvest to vase in under 24 hours. The first hour after you get them is key: recut stems at 45 degrees under water, strip lower leaves, and keep them in a cool room. What's your trick for making them last?
Have you tried local flowers?
Did you know that you can get flowers by the bucket in Northern Michigan direct from our farm?
