Mother’s Day holds beauty for many, but for some mothers, it also holds grief too deep for words.
Let me assure you: losing a child is harder than going to war. It is a pain that changes you forever. It is a wound no time truly erases, only teaches you how to carry. A mother is never meant to outlive her child, and when she does, part of her heart goes with them.
Today, I honor not only the mothers holding their children close, but also the mothers carrying invisible ache, sacred sorrow, and enduring love for the child they cannot hold. Their motherhood did not end with loss. Their love did not end with death.
This Mother’s Day, may we remember grieving mothers with tenderness. May we speak their children’s names, honor their love, and make space for the kind of pain that never fully leaves.
To every mother carrying both love and loss: you are seen, your child is remembered, and your motherhood is sacred.
