I have bad news for those with dark skin tones looking into PMU: microblading isn’t a good option. 🙁

This client is 2 years healed, but not from microblading.

Why? Different methods fit different people. Dark skin tones have higher levels of eumelanin, the type of melanin responsible for black, brown, and gray coloration. This causes strokes to fade very quickly. We always recommend our APHS Signature Ombre to those with a darker complexion.

If this gorgeous client of ours had done microblading, it's likely she would need 4 or 5 sessions and would STILL be left with patchiness 🤦‍♀️

This client also had no tail to her brows. The tail part of the eyebrow contains the most blood vessels, and microblading would lead to very easy bleeding. This can also cause faded and discolored pigment, so microblading was definitely not an option for her!

Instead, her APHS Ombre Brows are looking fabulous at over 2 years healed. Now her brows look natural and full every day.

The best method for each person is impacted by more than just skin color. Age, skin type, amount of brow hair, and even daily routine can all affect which method is right for you.

ATTENTION ‼️: Microblading for people with red undertones, sensitive skin, or sparse hair is NOT recommended. Any strokes have a high risk of bleeding. When bleeding happens, pigments mix with blood, which changes the color to blue, gray, or red! 😮

It also makes the strokes blurry which makes the look patchy. 🫢

Even if you’re lucky to have nice strokes after the first time, a touch up will cut into those same areas over and over. What do you think happens then? 🤔 Is the stroke still going to be fine? Will it stay the same color as before? Will it be a nice color for you?
