Acoustics are often an afterthought in design, but they are critical to how a public space functions. Our team at CMC Shades and Specialties recently installed these strategic acoustic treatments at the North Kingstown Free Library to tackle noise reverberation.

As you can see in the "After" shots, these panels do more than just absorb sound—they complement the room's aesthetic, fitting perfectly into the ceiling bays and wall sections without cluttering the space.

The Children’s Room at the Newton Free Library is an open, inviting, and colorful space! The one shortcoming was the excess noise bouncing off the hard ceiling as the children would gather and play.

Our goal was to reduce that echo while not detracting from the thoughtful and charming design of the space. By using neutral-colored circle-shaped panels in various sizes on the ceiling, we are loosely emulating a clouds design to compliment the room’s theme. These 1” thick fabric-wrapped acoustical panels absorb excess sound to help make the space more comfortable.
