Me and my art kids made our summer mural into a funny scary dreamscape. There’s that mad sea monster throwing the painted pirate ships, fish scurrying along made out of simple shapes, dots in a pattern, spinners for rhythm, and an island of platypus (platypi?) made small to show depth. Wishing all my style and art friends a silly summer! Xo

Celebrating my boy last night at the Union Catholic Scholarship Awards where he won the James Lambert Scholarship, given in honor of his father by Mr. Lambert. We are so grateful to be part of the UC community and the Lamb Fam! ❤️ lambert.2126

Happy family, happy Easter, happy weather. It was a nice day for it and the little Cottage we’ve lived in for a year now was all shined up and looking adorable.

What brings you happiness? What swirls into you and warms you, lights you up, connects you back or softens the grit of your everyday? My happiness is in the gardens at the Cottage, the art classes I teach, awesome outfits that light me up from within, and my people and cats. What’s your thing that brings you joy or with happiness?

Celebrating my fabuloso girlfriend while shopping at one of her favorite stores Shala’s Boutique in Millburn. I’m buying some hot pink and sending hearts and love to you Julie!! 💕💃

I’m lovin’ this crazy top and jeans combo! These patterns have the same bronzy brown color in them and they also have similar wavy lines. Add in lipstick and denim and the whole outfit makes me feel just a little bit of groovy. This is pattern matching and everyday art at its best! I guess once a stylist always a stylist, even if it’s just for me.

She’s here! Just when I thought she wasn’t coming, had a better engagement somewhere else down south, she called off daylight savings and arrived!! In celebration, I shopped, my wonderful witch hazel bloomed, and my cozy corner in the Cottage got a tidy little teal bench. Welcome sweet spring!

Congrats to my boss lady neice and her mama who helped her all the way there - on her commitment to Navy! This pair is a testament to all women and what we do.

Art show on Saturday happened at the Woodland and it was aaaaaaamazing!!! We studied Alma Thomas, an abstract painter who is lesser known but among the greatest of American artists. Students recreated her colorful and circular work using bright beads on small frames, they painted her signature stripes and they created abstract, color field style art from photos of the Crab Nebula just as Thomas painted from the space program photos of the first lunar landing and orbits.
