A lot of clients have been asking me what to do regarding their frequent nail splitting in cold weather.

Here are my TOP 4 TIPS to protect your nails in cold weather months:

1) AVOID: extremely frequent contact with water and harsh nail product usage such as overuse of acetone, gel polishes, etc.

2) MAINTAIN: Keep up with basic nail maintenance (i.e. trimmed nails & cleaned-up cuticles). Moisturize! Lots of lotion and make sure to rub into cuticles well.

3) NOURISH: Indulge in nutritious foods that assist in nail growth and maintenance such as those rich in Biotin and Vitamin E (Ex: Swiss Chard, Almonds, Spinach, and Avocados). Vitamin supplements are acceptable as well.

4) REPAIR: Repair split/damaged nails ASAP using nail glue and a gentle buffer.

Avoid, Maintain, Nourish, Repair and REPEAT :)
