There is ALWAYS going to be sh*t that gets in the way.

For ALL of us.

A sick partner, a needy pet, a global pandemic, an overload of work emails, or an unscheduled extra meeting….

You know what I’m talking about.

My sick client just emailed to reschedule and ended the email with “always something”.

I 100% agree, there will ALWAYS be something that gets in the way of our perfect plan to get us to our goals…

So what do you do?

1️⃣ meet yourself where YOU are currently at in this very moment

2️⃣ plan AHEAD for potential (& inevitable) barriers

3️⃣ move away from the all or nothing mindset (it’s keeping you frustrated)

Join Chloe Roche, certified meditation guide, in this introduction to meditation workshop! This workshop is open to ALL, whether you have a current meditation practice or have never meditated before! During the 90 minutes that we have together, the first 15 minutes will be a brief intro to meditation, followed by a 30 minute guided meditation, 15 minutes of reflection of experiences, and 30 minutes on the benefits of meditation and how to incorporate it into your daily life! Some of these benefits include an increased sense of calm, self awareness, concentration, mental well-being, and so much more! Meditation really IS for everyone, we just have to find what works for YOU!

All or nothing mentality ➡️ too much, too fast ➡️ frustration 🔁

A good example of this is the rush to join the gym on Jan 1 (usually without a plan) when you feel this new sense of motivation….

And then by March, “fall off the wagon”

Let me break down the WHY…

When you sign up for the gym Jan 1 you are expecting to see results, and soon.

You are setting youself up for failure.

‼️ unrealistic expectations for yourself

‼️ no accountability to keep you going on the days you are tired, sore, or unmotivated

‼️ no plan to take the decision making out of each workout (what movements, what weights, how long, is that enough?)

too much, too fast ➡️ frustration 🔁

SO? Let’s look long term.

Here’s what you need to avoid this cycle ⬇️

✅ a specific workout plan customized to your goals, what exercises to do, weights to use, which days, and when to switch it up

✅ a support system — specifically someone who can keep pushing you further and hold you accountable

✅ long term (MONTHS!!! At least) mindset, to make small, sustainable changes over time

What even is motivation?

Grit is not motivation.

Dedication is not motivation.

Consistency is not motivation.

But all three can help move you towards taking action, which often THEN leads to feeling motivated 🧐
