I thought healing meant getting back to who I was.

I don’t believe that anymore.

I’ve lived through enough difficult chapters, challenges, loss and traumatic experiences in my life that somewhere along the way, surviving became second nature to me.

You learn how to keep moving.
How to figure it out.
How to be strong because sometimes… you simply don’t have another choice.

And for a long time, I was proud of how much I could survive.

But this season taught me something different.

Just because I know how to survive doesn’t mean I’m meant to spend my life in survival mode.

This season asked me to be still long enough to see myself clearly — the beautiful parts, the uncomfortable parts, and the parts of me I had outgrown but was still carrying.

And there was grief in letting her go.

The woman who could handle everything.
The woman who kept going no matter what.
The woman who measured her strength by how much she could carry.

I love her. I understand why she existed.
She protected me through some of the hardest chapters of my life.

But I don’t want to live that way anymore.

This accident changed me in ways that had nothing to do with my injuries.

It made me softer. More intentional. More protective of my peace. It reminded me that my worth has never been measured by my productivity, how needed I am, or how much I can do for everyone else.

I’m still healing.
I’m still learning.
I’m still becoming.

But as I prepare to walk back through the doors of Luminous, I know one thing for certain:

I’m not returning to my old life.

I’m creating a new one.
