10/4 was an interesting day. It wasn’t just the anniversary of me being open as a business.
Nick and I spent the day at the 🍎 c***r mill with the kids, and Allison hurt her bum going down a slide 😣 🛝 I stood behind her and the guys kinda helped me surround her and she j hooked her own sacrum area “where it hurt the most” and she was able to continue walking around and enjoying her day. I treated her first when we got back to the house.
When we got home Nick’s back hurt, so I treated that, too.
Then I started to get a nasty migraine. I thought maybe I’d spent too much time in the sun, but I treated everything I’d normally treat on my scalp and eyes/face and neck and it was still hanging around. Then it dawned on me— I hadn’t worked under my jaw since day 3 post op and still had some swelling.
Nick and I were outside standing by the grill and I started j hooking up under my jaw. I did the left side and once I went through thoroughly, I moved my head around and the whole left side felt great! So I treated the right side, and BOOM.
Migraine - gone. I stared in awe for a moment and he said “what are you thinking about?”

Me- “I think RAPID is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, professionally. Even in our personal lives, I feel like things would have hurt a lot more for a lot longer without knowing this information. It’s completely changed how I think when it comes to injury and pain”
Three different people, 3 completely different pain symptoms. And I wound up treating all of it on the anniversary of the business I’ve grown so much in 💚
I’m so blessed to have something so wonderful I can use to get us back on track after life hits. I think about it almost daily, how much I enjoy going into the office every day and learning everything RAPID has to offer. It’s like an appetite that’s never satisfied. More often than not, that far-away stare that hits at home at times is 100% me sitting and rethinking a treatment when I get a complex case. It’s even in my dreams 😂 yeah, I dreamt of RAPID. This must be what it’s like to have found your purpose and be living out your dreams 🥹🫶🏻 🌱

🎉 FOUR YEARS IN BUSINESS! 🎉

October 4 marks four years since I took the leap and opened my own business — and I wanted to celebrate by giving a little something back to the community that’s kept me here. ❤️

So… birthday presents are on ME this year. 🥳

I’m giving away TWO prizes:

☕ A $25 gift card to a local coffee shop

💛 A $50 credit to Restorative Motion

Two prizes. Two winners!

If you’re not familiar with me yet, I’m Shelby, owner of Restorative Motion here in Eaton Rapids. I specialize in RAPID NeuroFascial Reset and work with people dealing with things like chronic pain, headaches, nerve pain and entrapments, stubborn joint pain, and other issues that just don’t seem to go away.

My business looks VERY different today than it did when I opened four years ago, and I’m incredibly grateful to this community for giving me the opportunity to keep learning, growing, and doing work that I love.

🎉 TO ENTER THE ANNIVERSARY GIVEAWAY:

Comment below and tell me something you love about our community! Bonus entry if you include your vote for your favorite local coffee shop for the gift card winner!

That’s it. ❤️

I’ll randomly choose two winners after the giveaway closes. One person will receive the coffee gift card and one will receive the $50 Restorative Motion credit.

And for my existing clients, I have a little anniversary thank-you for you too!

💛 ANNIVERSARY REFERRAL BONUS

If you refer someone new who books an Initial RAPID appointment between October 4–10, you’ll receive a $25 credit toward your next visit after they complete their appointment.

Their appointment does NOT have to take place during Anniversary Week — they just need to get it on the books between October 4–10. So if they schedule for later in October (or whenever my next available appointment is), it still counts!

Thank you for four years of trusting me, referring your friends and family, sharing my posts, and supporting a tiny local business.

Here’s to year FIVE. 🥂

7 days since surgery. Yesterday was the first day I felt human at all. I got the all clear to eat whatever I want again, and the stitches that were still there got removed, thank god!
You can’t really see with the filter but I still have a yellow bruise on my right cheek and some swelling. I still take Tylenol every 6 hours, but things are getting better slowly. If you’ve been told you should get your wisdom teeth out, I can’t stress it enough to do it young if you can. Being mid 30’s, the recovery for me was really hard, and still has trying days. I also can’t take NSAIDS and had a hard time clotting.
I know my kids will have theirs out as soon as they’re ready so they can avoid some of the stuff I went through in the last week. Now it’s just keeping the extraction sites clean so I don’t have to ever think about this again 😮‍💨 😂 I’m so happy to be back in the office on Friday! ♥️ 10/2 is already booked up with people I needed to reschedule, but I still have availability 10/6 and 10/7!
Picture of my post op xray in the comments for anyone that wants to see where my wisdom teeth used to be 🫣😅

You guys!!! I have been so busy recovering that I forgot to post yesterday that I’ve been practicing RAPID for 1 WHOLE YEAR!!! 🎉 🙌🏻 🎂 throwback to the first picture I took with my upper body certificate in Toronto last year 🫶🏻

I have the best dog 🐾 so far healing has gone well, no dry socket but I definitely have periods of time where the achiness and swelling are more noticeable than others. It’s been 72 hours since I woke up from sedation. I’ve even got a few of my dissolvable stitches that are coming loose (yuck, i know).
My go to soft foods have been chocolate pudding, mandarin oranges, apple sauce, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese so far. I did enjoy some sherbet and cottage cheese. Chicken and rice soup was a no 🙅🏼‍♀️ 😂
I’m really happy to be using warm compresses to help my body’s natural healing process and reduce the jaw stiffness.
Every nap I take, every move I make, this dog is watching me 😂 👀 she’s a good cuddler. If it’s not her, it’s the cat, they take my supervision in shifts 🥰😅 🐈‍⬛ 🐶 Allison also is with me as much as she can be, and didn’t want to go to school. She’s my girl when we watch greys anatomy ♥️ I can’t wait to be back in the office and out doing all the spooky season stuff. If you’ve had your wisdom teeth out, how long was it until you felt like yourself again? Tell me in the comments.

Today’s a reminder that healing isn’t linear. Sometimes we feel like we’re making great progress, and then get frustrated when we backslide. Sometimes I feel pretty good, then a short while later I feel awful. Today’s the day I start treating around my jaw with RAPID to help with the swelling. Hopefully by tomorrow things have improved ♥️ I can’t wait til I can resume normal activities 🎃 👻 ☕️ 🍂

Coraline jones is on supervision duty today 👀 🐈‍⬛ she slept between my feet all night last night. 🖤
Today is much better than yesterday. I tried not to use ice unless I was between med doses. The worst part was the drive home (2 hours) and my local numbing wearing off on the drive before I could take the first pain med. It took almost an hour to kick in and I was in so much pain I had a hard time eating so I used the ice to take the edge off. It hurt all the way to my front teeth on the bottom, and throbbing and aching and all across the roof of my mouth towards the back where they pulled both top wisdom teeth. Once the meds kicked in it was much better and I was able to move my jaw more and eat pudding cups.
It took almost 9 hours and 2 rounds of using black tea bags as a gauze to get my sockets to clot 😮‍💨 I was frustrated because you can’t sleep with gauze in, it’s a choking hazard. So I was tired and just wanted rest, but the bleeding didn’t want to stop. Thankfully it’s under control now and I got a good night’s rest.
I was able to eat scrambled eggs this morning and some apple sauce, drank an ensure, and some water. I’ve been doing gentle movement of my jaw and neck to help tell my brain it’s okay to move these areas and keep the fluid (swelling) moving. If I need anything thermal, it’ll be heat from here on out with the permission of my surgeon.
I plan to treat my jaw either today or tomorrow to help with the stiffness and pain. I’ve been told it’s safe to do so. 🫶🏻 for now, lots of cuddles of the fur babies and Netflix binging with some good naps ♥️ I can’t wait to be back in the office and I’m so thankful my endless antibiotics are done. I’m ready to get my life back!

I’m home resting, surgery went smoothly. Lots of ice packs and trying to stay on a med schedule so I can sleep tonight 😴 hopefully over the next couple days I’ll start feeling less sore. If anyone wants to see, I asked to keep my wisdom teeth! They’re pretty cool, the top ones came out in pretty much one piece. 👀 🦷 pictured is the note I wrote myself for before & after the procedure. ♥️ thank you to everyone that reached out to say they were thinking of me today 🫶🏻
