For those who don’t know yet, it is with great sadness that we share the passing of David McCarthy last week. We have been trying to process this heartbreaking news before finding the words to post.

David was a stylist who truly loved every part of this industry — from the artistry of hair styling to making his clients feel beautiful and cared for. He had a gift for making people feel comfortable in his chair, and so many clients adored him not only for his talent, but for his personality, humor, and kindness.

We will miss seeing him bike to work, stand behind the chair, tell his long stories, make jokes, work on his New York Times crossword, and create beautiful hair with such passion and dedication. We will also miss his fashionable outfits and unmistakable sense of style that made David so uniquely himself.

He brought warmth, character, creativity, and life into the salon every single day, and he will be deeply missed by all of us at Sea Spa and by so many clients and friends whose lives he touched over the years.

Our hearts are with his family, loved ones, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
