Hello my favorite people 🤍

I wasn’t sure how to say this, so I’m just going to say it: small businesses need help right now.
You can probably see it outside your front door, but I especially want to shine a light on the salon and spa industry.
This past month, with ICE activity in our neighborhoods, has been hard on all types of businesses. After talking with coworkers and friends in the industry, I can tell you — people are anxious. Very anxious.
Appointments aren’t being kept like they used to be. Some people don’t feel safe running errands. Others are feeling the weight of rising living costs. And historically, salon and spa services are one of the first things households cut when budgets get tight.
That combination has left a lot of us feeling overwhelmed.
Thankfully, I’ve been holding steady — and I know some others have too, for now. But I wanted to share a few ways you can help if you’re able:

1. If you have the means, book the appointment. Need a pedicure, haircut, brow wax? Now is the time. And if possible, pre-book your next visit. Even if you need to reschedule later, having that appointment on the books gives your service provider a real sense of stability and comfort.

2. If spending isn’t in the budget, I completely understand. A free way to help? Leave a review for your favorite local business. It might seem small, but seeing a new five-star review truly makes our day and helps more than you know.

3. Share and tag your favorite businesses.
Share their posts. Post a story when you visit. Tag them. It’s free marketing and it gives such a boost of encouragement. I can’t even tell you how much it means when someone shares their experience.

And one more thing — Valentine’s Day is coming up 💌 A gift card to your loved one’s favorite local spot makes such a thoughtful gift and keeps money in our community.
I’m so lucky to have your support, and I just want to say THANK YOU. Truly. 🤍

Sorry for the late newsletter this February! My little pup, Goose, has been quite the handful lately as he’s going through his training. Right now, he’s off at boot camp during the day, and then Pat and I are all in during the evenings, helping him practice everything he’s learning. On top of that, we’re also juggling walks for Goose and our other dog, George, which can get pretty hectic until Goose gets the hang of things. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some peaceful walks that don’t involve him pulling on the leash or barking at every single thing that moves! If you have any leash training tips, I would love to hear them! 😆

This month, when you book a service, you’ll have a chance to win a gift certificate to Pimento Jamaican Kitchen, plus a yummy gift box of Thomasina’s cashew brittle. It’s a great way to support local businesses while celebrating Black History Month and shining a spotlight on other small businesses.

I’ll be sure to announce the winner in early March!

Thank you for supporting my business! I truly have the best people surrounding me! 🫶🏻

It is challenging to articulate the emotions surrounding the current state of our communities. The anger and sadness we all feel is palpable, and the uncertainty about what tomorrow holds can be overwhelming. Take a moment to consider the individuals in your immediate circle; I am certain that many are actively supporting their neighbors, which offers a glimmer of hope.

In times when circumstances feel beyond our control, I find that connecting with family and friends, as well as contributing to our community, helps to navigate these challenges. Numerous small businesses are seeking donations and are giving back in meaningful ways.

I’d like to highlight a few ways to help:

1. A group very close to my family who is choosing to remain private to protect themselves need donations for families who are directly impacted by ICE. Please text me and I’ll give you the Venmo information. My number is 952.212.3751

2. Richfield public schools are currently doing a “Pack a Bag” for families. You can choose between two bags or both bags to donate in paper bags. The details will be at the bottom of this page ⬇️

3. The Garden Salon Collective in Saint Louis Park is collecting donations for STEP.
They need:
Shampoo/conditioner
Bar Soap
Laundry Soap
Dish Soap
Feminine Products
Baby Wipes
Paper Grocery Bags
These items can be dropped off during business hours to 6801 Wayzata Blvd.

4. Also Located in SLP is Harlowe Salon
100% of their retail profits today and tomorrow will support Underdog Rescue and Open Cupboard helping families get access to food. 6414 W Lake Street.

If you are able, consider stopping by to purchase a product, booking an appointment, or pre-scheduling your next visit. Additionally, sharing these businesses on social media can make a significant impact. If you haven’t recently left a review for your favorite small business, please take a moment to do so. Your support means the world!

Small businesses are greatly affected by the current presence of ICE in our communities. Many individuals are hesitant to attend their appointments due to fear. While I have been fortunate to maintain a steady schedule, numerous friends and co-workers are feeling anxious.

These businesses require your support now more than ever. If you are able, consider stopping by to purchase a product, booking an appointment, or pre-scheduling your next visit. Additionally, sharing these businesses on social media can make a significant impact. If you haven't recently left a review for your favorite small business, please take a moment to do so. Happy December! I hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving filled with great food and good company.

I had a fantastic Thanksgiving too, enjoying some delicious meals and celebrating with family. We also welcomed a new puppy into our home, Goose. He’s just three months old and is a total joy with his cuddly personality and love for naps. I can’t wait for his playful side to kick in, but for now, I’m soaking up these sweet moments. Every day brings a new adventure with him, and I’m loving every minute of it.

A huge shoutout to everyone who pitched in for last month’s STEP Food Shelf initiative in Saint Louis Park. Your generosity really made a difference, and I can’t thank you enough for your kindness. It’s so heartwarming to see our community come together like that.

Starting January 1st, I’ll be adjusting my prices a bit. Massage services will see a $5 increase, and facials will go up by $10. Waxing and tinting services will also increase, ranging from $2 to $5, depending on what you choose.

I can’t thank you enough for supporting my business through thick and thin! Your loyalty and encouragement really keep me motivated, and I truly feel so lucky to have you all in my corner. THANK YOU!

Wishing you all happy holidays 🎄!!!

I hope everyone had a blast on Halloween! I loved seeing the costumes and watching local kids trick-or-treat. One highlight was a woman dressed as an anglerfish with a glowing light—such a creative idea! I also got my first animatronic, which really surprised the kids at seven feet tall.
Last month, your generous donations helped Vet Partners Cares, a nonprofit created by Vet Partners Veterinary Clinic, which is close to my heart for our beloved Stinka-fish 🐶. I’m so thankful for your support; it means a lot to me and is crucial for keeping these important initiatives going.
As we dive into November, let’s keep that spirit of giving alive! Many people relying on SNAP benefits are facing tough times right now, so it’s the perfect moment to lend a hand. SNAP benefits remain uncertain for many individuals in need.

For November, we are supporting the STEP food shelf in Saint Louis Park. You are welcome to bring donations to your next appointment, as they are in need of various items, and every contribution makes a difference.

Here’s what they need:
💰 Financial contributions. This is the most effective way to help STEP quickly and efficiently respond to the unfolding crisis. Food programs can stretch financial donations further through bulk purchasing and partnerships. Monetary gifts also mean less time and labor to sort and stock donated items.
🥫 Food. Every can, box, and bag of food donated helps fill the gap by the snap disruption. They need: Cereal, Canned Vegetables, Dessert Mixes, Jelly, Sugar, Canned Meat, Rice, Flour and Oil.
🧥 Coats. Step is collecting coats for this winter. New and gently used are welcome!

As we approach 2026, now is the perfect time to schedule your appointments for the upcoming year. If you prefer to plan ahead, please contact me to pre-book your sessions. Simply provide your desired frequency, preferred day of the week, and time. Please note that Saturday availability is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

During the busy holiday season, I will be available the day after Thanksgiving and on two Mondays in December 🦃 🛍️ 🎄

Have a great weekend!

Happy October, everyone!

It’s hard to believe how quickly time is passing by—it feels like I say that all the time, but it really is true! The school year is in full swing, and I am awaiting the crisp fall weather. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I can’t wait to finish setting up my decorations and hand out candy on Halloween Eve!

One of my favorite traditions is buying my dogs a new Halloween outfit each year. This year, however, our celebration feels bittersweet as we had to say goodbye to my beloved dog, Stinka-fish, at the end of August. Our hearts are still heavy with his loss, but I want to honor his memory through this month’s self-care for a cause initiative and dedicate it to him.

The veterinary clinic we visit supports a wonderful non-profit called Vet Partners Cares, which assists pet owners who face unexpected medical costs for their pets. This organization is dedicated to helping low-income, unemployed, or disabled pet owners keep their beloved companions at home. If you feel moved to help, you can donate online at [www.vetpartnerscares.org] or contribute to the donation box during your next visit which I will lovingly call “The Fish Fund” 🐶

Stinka-fish was a truly sweet, gentle giant, and we will miss him dearly. His brother, George, is dressing up in a fish costume this year to honor his big brother’s spirit.

For those of you who follow my business on Instagram or Facebook, I want to give you a heads up that I’ll be sharing many memories of Stinka-fish and the outfits he graciously let me dress him in! I hope his joyful spirit brings a smile to your face, just as it did to ours every single day.

I hope you have a Happy Halloween and if you have pets at home give them extra love and treats! (Pictured here is George showing off his finding Nemo fish costume. You can see how pumped he is about it 😂)

Hope everyone’s enjoying summer, even with the humidity, rain, and smoke in the mix. Honestly, I’m dreaming of those cool 60-degree days and snuggling into a cozy sweatshirt with my dogs!

There’s still plenty of summer left, so I want to give a shoutout to my talented friend Liz, an AP esthetician at Santé Beauty Creatives (formerly District on 50th). Liz is your go-to for waxing, tinting, lash lifts, and henna, and she has some openings right now. She uses Vagaro, which makes it super easy to book an appointment. I’ve been seeing Liz for years, and her skills are top-notch. She’s quick and makes every visit feel welcoming.
Liz is running a sweet deal—20% off for new clients and 20% off new services for existing clients. Plus, if you’re an existing customer and pay with cash, you’ll snag an extra 10% off. Check her out on Instagram for more details!

This month, I’m honoring my amazing auntie Kathleen, who we lost in December 2022. August was her birthday month so it only feels right to celebrate her. She was all about paying it forward and always had others in mind. I think about her every day and really miss her. Kath was such a giver. She regularly donated to St. Jude and always wanted to make a difference. Instead of focusing on her own cancer, she preferred to highlight childhood cancer because that’s just who she was. She didn’t want to be remembered for her illness but for her kindness, her ability to make people smile, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. She truly made a positive impact on my life and on everyone lucky enough to know her. If you’d like to donate in honor of Kath, you can do so in my suite or by visiting the St. Jude website:

https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html?sc_icid=home-btn-donate-now

I hope everyone has a wonderful August, and I appreciate you all!

July is here, and it’s flying by with all the summer fun! We’ve got plans lined up every weekend, making it a fantastic few weeks. Over the 4th of July, we took our nephew fishing for the first time. He caught his first fish and cutely said, “let it back in, ok?” We had a blast with family that day before heading home to check on our fish, whom we lovingly named Stinka-fish, while I got him ready for the fireworks—something I bet many of you can relate to!

Last month was very inspiring thanks to your amazing donations to RECLAIM, which supports mental health for q***r and trans youth. Your continued support for these important causes means the world to me, and I can't thank you enough. While I won't be hosting self-care for a cause this month, get ready for one in August!

I've got some availability this week and a few slots open throughout the month, I hope to see you soon!
