Honestly, I look at these photos and wish I could hug the version of me on the left. I know how defeated, frustrated, and self conscious I felt. That photo was taken on a “good day” but I would struggle with painful breakouts for years before going to esthetics school in 2021 and really beginning to understand my skin.

What changed was more than just my acne. It was my mindset, my consistency, my understanding of barrier health, inflammation, triggers, and learning how to support my skin instead of fighting against it.

Even now, my skin is not “perfect.” I still have occasional breakouts and rosacea flares. Skin conditions don’t always disappear, they are managed over time with proper care.

If you’re currently struggling with your skin, please know this, progress takes time, and you are not failing because your journey isn’t overnight.
