I originally used the balm on my horse Rio in 2011 as a last ditch effort to help him. I had adopted him a couple years earlier from the horse rescue I was running and he had major leg issues. At that point he was so stiff and sore from all the wear and tear on his legs from his life before me. I had tried all different kinds of holistic healing modalities first and also traditional modalities and it was no longer helping. It was all about quality of life for him. I didn’t have to ride him, he just had to be comfortable and happy. He went out in the pasture with his buddies all day and was happy but now his legs were stiff all the time. He could no longer trot or canter. As a last ditch effort I tried a balm that a friend and I had made on his pasturns. I put the balm in the palm of my hand and gently massaged it into his front pasturns (ankles). I used the size and thickness of a quarter – not much considering he was 1400 pounds. The next day we could see a difference. After a week we were all amazed to see him trotting around in the pasture. Everyone saw what it did for him and wanted to try it on themselves. It was made to help with inflammation - any kind of inflammation. It was made out of organic herbs and therapeutic grade essential oils so was safe to try for many situations. After everyone tried it and had impressive results they wanted to buy some. So was the birth of the balm. That was 2011. On August 23, 2021 I helped Rio cross the rainbow bridge at the age of 28 due to several health issues. The balm and oil helped me keep my beautiful boy for 10 more years. When customers thank me for making it I tell them to thank Rio. It was my love for him that kept driving me to seek out more that could help him. I love and miss you Rio!
