When you visit my chair, expect pampering, expect snacks and beverages, scalp massages, deep conditioning treatments (when you need it), expect to relax, connect and to simply breath, a consultation that doesn’t consist of a simple “doing the same thing?”, But a conversation about what you love in your hair, what you hate, what you struggled with, any concerns, questions, what do you want to work toward, long term and short term goals for your hair. I don’t take calls during our time together...our time is meant to be about you! I love to build relationships, help you feel heard, help you with your beauty struggles, help you hit your goals....in the end when you leave my chair I want you to feel unrushed, important, heard, pampered, confident and gorgeous, relaxed and ready to take on your day with a smile. 😃

It sounds amazing- you only have to come in a couple of times a year, it grows in beautifully, and it’s super easy to take care of. What could be better?

Low-maintenance color isn’t for everyone, nor for every look.

So here’s three things to think about if you’re considering switching:

1. Consider embracing your natural color as a base & enhance instead of cover it. - One of the keys to being as low maintenance as possible is embracing your natural color and enhancing rather than changing it. By doing this, you don’t have any harsh grow-out, and it’s much easier to have a seamless blend 4 months later!

2. Consider your time & money budget. What works best with your life? - Is it better for you to come in for more frequent, shorter, lower-investment appointments, or would you prefer to only come in 2-3 times a year but have it be a slightly longer appointment and slightly higher investment? Neither answer is wrong, but it all depends on what your time and budget look like.

3. But what truly excites me is the sudden urge among all my clients to lighten their hair or experiment with new colors!

🎉Can you believe it’s been 9 years since I’ve become an independent stylist at Lucid Salon? It feels like yesterday, but looking back… I was a completely different person 9 years ago.

What many people may not know, at that time in my life, I was contemplating whether or not to continue doing what I love. I was working at a corporate salon and making minimum wage. I just went thru a divorce, trying to pick up the pieces of being a single mom, and living back at home. I felt like an absolute failure. I knew I had to make a change.

Someone convinced me to become an independent stylist at a newer salon in the area. What does that even mean you ask?
-No guaranteed income
-No health insurance
-No paid time off, vacation time, or sick days
-Make your own schedule
-Be your own boss
-Pay to work/rent space

The pros and cons list could go on for days. This sounded so scary at the time, but it was the absolute best decision I could have made!

Here we are 9 years later! I have built a thriving business inside Lucid Salon, which I couldn’t have done without the support of my amazing clients! I have purchased a home for Jaydan and I, which I didn’t even think was possible.
