Cancellation & Late Arrival Policy
Hello everyone!
Sheri and I truly value each and every one of our clients, as well as the time we dedicate to providing you with the best possible service. Unfortunately, we have recently experienced an increase in cancellations and no-shows, which makes it difficult for us to accommodate other clients who are waiting for appointments. This policy will come into place September 1st of 2026

To help protect our time and ensure fairness to everyone, we will be implementing the following policies effective immediately:

Cancellations: All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a fee of 50% of the scheduled service.

Card on File: Moving forward, all clients will be required to keep a valid card on file to cover any applicable cancellation or late-arrival fees.

Late Arrivals: If you are more than 15 minutes late to your scheduled appointment, your appointment will be canceled and a fee of 50% of the scheduled service will apply.

We completely understand that emergencies happen and that life can be unpredictable. If an emergency or unexpected situation arises, please reach out to us as soon as possible. We will always do our best to work with you on a case-by-case basis.

Hello everyone ! I believe this is my first official post on here. I have been running my business through my personal account ever since I started in school so making this transition has been slow but steady! I will be posting here wayyy more often and for those of you who don’t know me. My name is Layne, I am the new owner of shear genius salon and would love to book you a nail or hair appointment! So far I have gotten to meet many of you and it has been such a pleasure! Sherri and I have had a grand time working together and we can’t wait to see you all in the salon!

After 38 beautiful years behind the chair, it’s time for me to turn the page to a new chapter. ❤️

Doing hair has never just been a job to me — it has been my passion, my purpose, and my privilege. Shear Genius has truly been my heart. What started as clients in my chair became friendships, and over the years, so many of you have become like family. I am beyond grateful for every conversation, every laugh, every story shared, and the trust you placed in me for nearly four decades.

My official retirement date will be April 30. While I will be stepping away, I’m happy to share that Shear Genius will still be open and thriving! ✂️

Sheri Rice will continue doing what she does best, and the new owner will be Layne Viers. I have full confidence that they will continue the warmth, professionalism, and care that has always made this shop so special.
