Today, I feel a little tiny bit closer to heaven.

It doesn't bother me like the world told me it would.

I feel happy, content in my gradually increasing frailty (though not always comfortable).

I creak and crack more than I ever knew the human body was capable of, with more minor injuries than I care to admit 🥴, yet it's okay.

Something about it reminds me that THIS is not the end. THIS isn't the the purpose.

Every year I can let go a little more, be a little more free, and breathe a little deeper.

There's a new kinship with older generations, a shared weariness, an understanding.

And I like it. I like getting older (am I allowed to say that?!).

I'm still just stumbling along on the coattails of grace, but I know I'm welcome at God's table, as are you. He'll have any who truly want to be there, with Him. In His peace.

We get glimpses of that now, through His Spirit, and it's enough for another day. One day at a time. Sacred rhythms holding us together until that glorious glorious day (glorious twice for emphasis 😉).

I turn 30 today! I am NOT "thirty, and flirting, and thriving"....pahhhlease. 🤣
(Maybe a bit wiser though 🤪🤞🏼)

But I am becoming more whole with each passing year, more aware of my need for grace and mercy, and hopefully each year I am growing to give more mercy and grace in return.

Resting in my limited understanding of God's unconditional love, displayed most extravagantly through Jesus.

I like aging, and these are the reasons why. 😘

I thought I'd be a little sad that I'm "30" but I'm pleasantly surprised that I'm not, that I'm actually, HAPPY.

(Thought I would share some photos featuring another one of my artistic hobbies (aside from hair and makeup). I love water color painting plants (exclusively for FUN), it keeps color theory and color mixing fresh in my mind, gives me a safe outlet to try new things, and calms my mind. I am an artist at heart ❤️.)

I'm loving all of the "understated elegance" hairstyles I've been seeing lately. They are a great option for the bride who wants a hairstyle the feels and looks ultra fancy while having it still being a "touchable" style that moves with you throughout the night.

These curls are, in my opinion, the perfect combination of relaxed and bouncy! They give you the feelings of luxury without the high maintenance that a glam style entails. (Don't get me wrong, I love glam too! But this post is to help the brides decide if this look is for them, not everyone wants to or can manage a high maintenance style).

I enjoyed working with this bride SO much, not just because she was so much fun ☺️, but because of the way she combined her elegant timeless bridal look with a bright splash of color 🌺!

Your wedding is a day completely unique to you and your spouse-to-be! As a result, everything about the day should reflect who you are as a couple, the things that are important and significant to you, etc.

My key objective in wedding hair and makeup is to enhance and illuminate YOU and the beautiful and unique way that God designed your features. Your spouse fell in love with YOU and I'm pretty sure they still want to see "you" as they know you, when you're walking down the aisle 😘.

My job is a special one, during your trial run I try my best to acknowledge your most radiant features, for some it's their eyes, their lips, their hair color, others their cheekbones, etc. In our session, I seek to enhance all the best things about you in a way that is both flattering in person and beautiful on camera.

I still do the entire process of bridal hair and makeup, we skip no steps. The end result is ideally one where you still see yourself in the mirror, but rather "the pretty, most cleaned-up version" of you 😍. One that is extra special because it's your wedding day, but that still feels like the "you" your spouse calls "home".
