Ascension Aesthetics + Wellness was ranked the #2 Medical Spa in Elizabethtown for August 2026, and considering we’ve only been open for a few months, I’m honestly still trying to wrap my head around that.

We came in right behind a huge med spa that’s been established for more than five years… and no, it’s not that one. IYKYK.

When I opened Ascension, I wanted to create something different: a place where aesthetics feels personal, education matters, wellness is part of the conversation, and you never feel like just another appointment on the books.

To already be recognized alongside businesses that have had years to build their name means so much.

Every appointment. Every referral. Every Google review. Every person who shares a post, tells a friend, or trusts me with their face, skin, and wellness , you are building Ascension with me.

And apparently… we’re just getting started.

Update: our boy has a new family now!!

All he wants is love.

And at just 2 y/o, this guy has spent a good chunk of his life searching for it… in shelter staff, in volunteers, in anyone who will stop long enough to notice him.

Adoptable Wonder Bread has now been to three adoption events. He has been on days out. Fun and friendly, happy and ready for an adventure. Great on a leash, easy-going, seems to do well with other dogs and unbothered by cats he has met. Volunteers and staff have spent time with him, lots of others of all ages have interacted with him, everyone instantly seeing the remarkable boy he is.

But his forever love hasn’t come.

Frankly, it’s hard on us to see him passed by. And it’s hard on him too. At the event yesterday, he seemed to just be tired of it all and decided to retreat behind whatever could shield him. And then we delivered him back to the shelter where he instantly perked up, ready to be “home.” That one about broke us.

But Wonder Bread’s story isn’t a sad one. His forever is out there, and we will keep working until it comes to find him.

It’s time for Wonder Bread to be found by the love he deserves.

My mom grew up in a holler in Kentucky. Dolly grew up in the hills of East Tennessee.

Both were born into very large families where there were a whole lot of children and not a whole lot of money.

Their lives took very different paths, but there has always been something about Dolly’s story that reminds me of my mom—the resilience, the determination, and the ability to come from very little and still dream of something more.
