Mother’s Day always makes me emotional in the best and hardest ways 🤍

As someone who gets to care for people for a living, I often find myself reflecting on how grateful I am for this work. While I absolutely love and appreciate all of my clients, there is something especially meaningful about caring for women and mothers.

Helping women soften, rest, receive, and finally exhale feels like such sacred work to me.

Mothers give so much of themselves every single day. Their bodies, minds, nervous systems, energy, emotions… constantly poured into everyone around them. And yet mothers are so rarely nurtured in return.

That’s part of why I care so deeply about the work I do.

When we pour back into mothers, everyone benefits because mothers do so much for the people they love.

Becoming a mother changed me in every possible way, and truly for the better. It made me care for myself differently because suddenly someone depended on me. It made me realize how important I was in this world. Necessary. Needed. Loved.

And honestly, the joy of being called “mom” is something I don’t think I’ll ever fully get over 🥹

But I also know Mother’s Day is not soft or joyful for everyone.

Some of us no longer have our mothers here. Some of us carry deep mother wounds. Some of us are estranged from our mothers because they didn’t know how to care for themselves… or for us. This day can bring grief, longing, anger, or emptiness alongside the beauty.

To those carrying complicated feelings this weekend I see you and I feel for you deeply.
