L’Oreal is facing one of the largest active litigations in the entire United States right now. Over 10,000 women are suing because the NIH confirmed that chemical hair relaxers are directly linked to uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, and endometrial cancer. A 150% increased risk. And L’Oreal never put a single warning on the label. The products at the center of this? Dark and Lovely. Soft Sheen Carson. Just for Me. Products that were never marketed to white women. L’Oreal actually acquired Soft Sheen, a Black owned Chicago company, in 1998 and cornered over 50% of the retail relaxer market. They built an empire specifically off Black women’s hair and said nothing while the science was building. The first lawsuit was filed in October 2022. There are now over 10,500 plaintiffs. Her first visit to Virginias Hair Design…… she wanted long layers for movement and body., mission accomplished!.

My dear friend made an appointment to come to my salon while visiting from out of town . She’s dear to me , we go way back!

She wanted a highlites that gave her a lil bit of drama ! We were very pleased ! She’s now ready for her vacation!

I loved creating this haircut as the client requested. It was so much fun. It provided me with a great deal of free expression and creativity in the back with a fully razor haircut and she received some low lights. Her desire is to go lighter as the weather gets warmerand gradually remove box dye with time, haircuts, patients and more highlights. She was really pleased and so was I.

My guest came for a haircut and style today . She is happy to embrace her natural color and I think she looks great with her pink sweatshirt on looks great with the tones in her hair!
