Here’s the deal: textured hair at its healthiest is balanced in its porosity, routinely being nourished and consistently trimmed. We recommend a weekly routine, buuuttt if your life works better with biweekly then do you Sis, just be consistent.

Think of it like this… you water your plants routinely to keep the soil moist….you shampoo your hair routinely to keep the strands from being dry too long. So the water you trapped on wash day evaporates in 3-4 days so weekly wash days allows you to rehydrate the hair right when it dries out.

Each Curlfriend has a different treatment routine based on the needs of their hair (especially thick, curly, or coily strands) holds onto moisture differently. Washing too often strips away those precious natural oils faster than they can nourish your ends, leading to dryness and fragility. Experts recommend washing once a week or every other week, depending on your hair type, to allow those oils to work their magic.
